5.0 out of 5 stars Sons about to become students, 15 Sep 2011
Although my sons have cooked simple meals from a young age, they have never had to shop for food, or budget until now. This book helps them to plan their meals, and put a shopping list together. It contains a list of inexpensive, must have kitchen utensils ie can opener, and a list of basic pantry items. The best bit, I think, is that there is an idea of how much each meal costs, based on an average of high street supermarket prices. However, as they say "the proof is in the pudding" and I can't wait until they're home at Christmas, so that they can cook for me!

Good book. Lots of decent research has gone into this novel. Similar concept as Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, but gritty - especially the members of Omgios - quite a threatening bunch of characters, not your usual heros. This was my first Steven Savile novel, and have already downloaded another one onto my Kindle.

Not as good as the Dorling Kindersly guides, as the photos are mediocre, and the text is uninspiring, but it will fit nicely in my pocket when I am sightseeing.

Fantastic book. Great photos and lots of relevant information. The Rough Guide is more informative, but unless you are thinking about emigrating to Egypt, stick to this book, for all the information necessary for a holiday.

As always with Dorling Kindersley, the photos are stunning, and the layout easy to follow. This is a nice book to have on your coffee table, as you are drawn into it.
A good book to dip in and out of, but you may prefer The Rough Guide if you want more substance.

I love this series. It reminds me so much of my own family life. The kids that play Ben and Karen are brilliant.

Roll on series 2 - I want more
