4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough to be really keen to see Season 4, 7 Jan 2014
I agree with those who think many episodes since the beginning of TWD have been marred by too much talk, too many conversations saying the same thing, and never getting anywhere but the good bits are so good, I keep watching
SPOILER ALERT
Andrea was a civil rights lawyer, so am not surprised she was constantly trying to 'save' everyone; she never got over the death of Amy, and so I understand why she kept banging on about not wanting anyone else to die
She's also a woman in her prime, and let's face it, who wouldn't be a bit blinded to David Morrissey's flaws when the last bit of 'love' they got was a quickie in a car with Shane? So yes, bad decisions, but I think in keeping with the character and not at all unrealistic ( and I would have dropped the pliers too)
They redeemed Michonne, and gave the actress something decent to do other than look menacingly out of the side of her eyes
Why did we not see Carol and Daryl reunite when he returned to the prison with Merle? Come on, a bit of romance other than the totally unhot Glenn and Maggie, however sweet they are
David Morrissey pulled off the horrendous scene with Maggie so well, I literally couldn't watch
The actors do a great job, I really root for the characters, love Tyreese, Daryl fantastic, really sorry to see Merle go
Carl's development realistic too
Glad Lori gone, can't believe I nearly cried at the birth scene - great writing, great acting

Did I want to keep watching? Yes, but overall not as gripping as I would have hoped

Agree with other reviewers re PLEASE TURN THE BLOODY LIGHTS ON OFFICERS - in fairness, you see this in lots of shows/films - I did wonder just how many more times Sarah and/or others would be called upon to go down deep into basements and the like, generally via swirly staircases, with guns and torches in the FBI position

Just quite how the 'perpetrator' (could they not have come up with a better translation?) got round everywhere so quickly, and so stealthily, is a bit beyond me, stretching credulity at times really

The politics are confusing to me as I don't quite get Danish politics, other than lots of little, insignificant-on-their-own parties seem to make up the Government by means of various agreements, deals, affairs etc

I didn't catch on too quickly re why Zeeland was so important to the Prime Minister either, so that spoilt things a bit

Lots of plot devices revisited eg photos galore, class group photos, things found or discovered inadvertently, right at the last second as they are leaving the place being searched, or some throwaway comment by the person they have just finished interviewing

But still I wanted to keep watching, so I enjoyed it nonetheless, but wish I had waited even longer for the price to come down - really not worth £22 - not an extra to be found anywhere, not even the cheapo excuses for extras like 'the same episode you have just watched, but with someone, or even more than one, talking over it'

The actor who played Robert did a great job of portraying the distant father, intent on empire-building, whilst his family falls apart - I felt genuinely sorry for him

Sofie G always great, I'd watch The Killing 4

5.0 out of 5 stars It's all in the casting..., 21 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not so many laugh-out loud moments, just consistent feel-good moments, avoiding the schmaltzy, but still getting that message across - the actors are just spot on, with their faults and foibles evident, but still making them really pretty lovable - so actually, it's not just the acting, it's got to be the writing too - but actors not at the top of their game would kill it stone dead - the younger cast members standing shoulder to shoulder with the veterans
Do watch the deleted scenes on the pretty paltry extras - there are a couple of corkers, particularly those with Elizabeth Banks
Pretty expensive though, 24 episodes yes, but short, packaging not overly sumptuous either

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasts a couple of days if you're lucky, 14 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It looks great when it arrives, sadly pretty unfit for purpose - after a couple of days into school, and in and out of the freezer, it looked utterly battered (like a very old brown paper bag) and wouldn't seal properly either
I'd have sent it back if I could have faced the hassle
We need a zero star option - I really don't feel it deserves even one star
