3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok, 29 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This isn't a bad offering from McAfee. Although it is quite system intensive (something to bear in mind with older computers), it is easy to use and appears to work well. I have not seen any problems on my laptop with viruses or anything like that. I think the best way to install it is directly from the McAfee website, rather than the disc. It always seems to require a visit to and download from the site, so don't waste your time with the disc, just visit the site and download the exact same software product as on your disc (as a free trial) and then input the provided product key at the appropriate point. Make sure also to uninstall any previous anti-virus software before installing this. My personal favourite is AVG anti-virus, and I am more impressed by that brand - I never saw any interference with my computer. Still, this isn't too bad. It's just not that great because the sign of a really good programme is one that gets on with it's work in the background.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality staples from a good brand, 29 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These are good quality staples delivered in a simple card box. They fit in compatible Tacwise staplers. To check compatibility, just look at the label on your Tacwise stapler. They work perfectly with the Tacwise stapler. I am confident in this product and very happy to recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice light nails, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Nice light nails. These fit in a compatible Tacwise staple gun. On the Tacwise guns you can select the force at which they are placed, depending on the density of the surface. Quality nails that are easy to fit in the Tacwise stapler. I found them easy to load and easy to use. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality hammer tacker, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This hammer tacker feels really sturdy in the hand. An ergonomic rubber grip provides a secure hold, whilst the device is easy to load: just release the catch and pull the rear bit. Put the staples in and the device is ready to use. It is made of metal so should last a long time. In use, a firm slap on the surface deposits the staple firmly in place. What more can be said? This is another fine product from Tacwise that is easy to use.

2.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete, disappointing, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was disappointed that this item cannot be used right out of the box. You need to buy the cabling and whatever other fittings needed to actually fit this to your wall. This is very disappointing. The light itself is made of plastic: a white plastic backing with the LEDs inside, and a spiderman coloured shade. When the light is on, it lights up the picture, but I didn't get to see it working. I just got to examine the product. According to the manual, the light can be fitted in two ways: either wired directly to the mains, or fitted with a plug and attached to the wall. Now why was the light not provided with a plug in the first place? Well, to give you the choice of how to fit it. Right. But I am not an electrician, so all I can say about this is what I have observed. It strikes me as a fairly cheap and cheerful, if not complete, product. I think the light should come with everything you need - the consumer shouldn't have to go to the electrical shop with a shopping list of items that the maker didn't included. Poorly conceived product incompletely presented. If I was a teacher, I would send the pupil back to the drawing board.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good quality stapler, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This stapler is well made. The main handle parts are strong plastic and the mechanism metal. Loading is easy - just lift the jaws of the stapler to expose the magazine, pop in the staples, and away you go. It only takes a light touch to staple, the mechanics of the device making the most of your effort. Ideal for office tasks with mundane stapling jobs, I get the impression that this stapler will serve you well over a substantial period of time.

PaperPro Evo Compact One Finger 15 Sheet Capacity Power Stapler
PaperPro Evo Compact One Finger 15 Sheet Capacity Power Stapler
Price: £9.99

3.0 out of 5 stars This is a light, cheap stapler, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This feels a bit cheap. Power stapler is a bit of a misnomer: it requires as much if not more pressure than the average stapler to work. The build quality is not awe-inspiring: its all plastic, apart from some of the innards of the mechanism. It makes a powerful sounding 'snap' noise when fired. I am not overly impressed. It strikes me that this would be fine for light domestic use, but for an office environment, I would look for something more durable.

Tacwise 181ELS Electric Nail Gun
Tacwise 181ELS Electric Nail Gun
Price: £41.29

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality electric nail gun, 28 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is one impressive piece of equipment. It comes in a plastic carry case, 007 style, wrapped in a light card sleeve. Open the case and you are met with the sight of what appears to be an orange and black machine pistol. Lifting the unit out of the case, I was impressed with its heft. For a moment I imagined myself in the Aghani battlefields, perhaps in the foothills, being pursued by Islamic militants. This nail gun feels impressive. It's like holding an Uzi machine pistol. It even loads like a compact machine gun: very easy, just depress the release button and the magazine drops open, ready for you to insert the clips - I mean nails. Once you put 'em in, you snap it closed and you are ready. The device plugs into the mains and then you switch on the on/off switch and the device is perfectly ready. The flex is about 1.5m long.

To use, I turned on the mains switch and then, once I'd decided what I wanted to nail, I switched on the nail gun power switch and placed the item on the target surface. On harder surfaces like wood, you need to place your hand on top of the unit to prevent recoil, which results in the nail not fully penetrating the material. Of course you could tap it in with a hammer, but that defeats the purpose of this nail gun, so do what the instructions advice and place your spare hand on top of the unit, applying light to moderate pressure. The gun makes a powerful clicking noise in use. Always remove the nails when you are finished. This is easy to use - just press the magazine release and the nails drop out. Also notice that the magazine has different specification slots for different size nails: always make sure your chosen nails are slid in at the bottom of the magazine nearest the business end of this device.

What can I say but this is a serious, high-quality nail gun. Despite the humorous elements in the introduction of this review, this nail gun is NOT, I repeat NOT a toy and must only be used by mature adults with proper training, safety equipment (especially goggles), and sound knowledge of what they are doing. Severe, life-changing injury and death could very easily result from improper handling.

This is a very good electric nail gun equipped with a safety feature which should help to prevent accidents. Always read the manual. This provides all the information you need to use this safely. Jams can easily be cleared using the release clip above the nailer element, but I had no problems when using my nail gun. Turn it off and empty the magazine before clearing any jam and also every time you're finished using it.

Energizer 6 LED Headlight
Energizer 6 LED Headlight
Price: £10.47

4.0 out of 5 stars Good headlamp but with a better switch would be 5 stars, 27 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Energizer 6 LED Headlight (Sports)
Very good, affordable headlamp with a powerful light and many options: red light (which cleverly comes on first so as not to destroy your night vision), standard light, spotlight, combined standard and spotlight, and flashing signal. The headband is fully adjustable and sits well and comfortably on the head. The angle of the lamp can also be adjusted by a swivel setting which offers perhaps 3 angle settings for the lamp. The only thing I didn't like was the on/off switch: difficult to find by touch at times, it's also inclined to turn on by accident in your backpack, and this could be dangerous if this is your only light (you should have a small backup torch).
