Comedy Rules: From the Cambridge Footlights to Yes, Prime Minister
Comedy Rules: From the Cambridge Footlights to Yes, Prime Minister
by Jonathan Lynn
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £10.36

4.0 out of 5 stars Good holiday reading, 1 Jan 2012
An interesting take on writing an autobiography. If, like me, you grew up watching the Goodies and Monty Python in their original showing, you will enjoy the stories and insights into what were to become household names for decades to follow. By chance, I read this while travelling and got to see the first two episodes of Yes Prime Minister on a Cathay Pacific flight. My wife complained that my laughter attracted the attention of the whole cabin!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a penguin sequel, 16 Sep 2010
Though it explores the same murky areas as his Penguin books - ordinary people coexisting in a lawless society - it is rather light compared to his Penguin novels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant sense of living in anarchy, 16 Sep 2010
This review is from: Penguin Lost (Paperback)
I bought this, and Death and the Penguin, for a good friend who just moved to a new apartment with a Ukrainian neighbour. My own copy has gone missing, having lent it to one too many people to read. These books create a real sense of living in a society when nothing is certain, especially law enforcement. The main character is trying not to get drawn into the world of organised crime, but discovers that he cannot always recognise organised crime when it comes to him. Make sure you read them in the right order-this is the sequel.
