4.0 out of 5 stars Does what is asked of it, 15 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted something that would reach down beside / underneath the cooker / washing machine / fridge etc. to avoid pulling them out so often to clean. This certainly did the trick.

Overall it is about 61cm long. It made in 3 parts (the connector, the long flat extension and the nozzle). The connector and the nozzle are hard plastic, the flat extension is flexible rubber.

The nozzle is about 7cm long (excluding the bit that fits inside the flat extension) and does have an exceedingly large hole in the side (1.5cm x 4cm). I guess a hole is put in these things to avoid full suction being applied, given that modern vacuum cleaners are a heck of a lot more powerful than they used to be, but it is way too big. Anyways, the nozzle easily pulls out of the flat extension if you want do do without it (as I do).

So without the nozzle it is about 54cm long. The flat extension is approx. 2.5cm wide x 1cm thick and just about slides under my appliances.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rare treat, 16 Nov. 2005

I'm in the process of replacing rarely played old vinyl with CD and had truly forgotten what a fantastic album this is. I concur with the earlier comments and would add that every track is memorable and familiar as if all of them had been hits.
I've also got The Very Best of The Moody Blues on CD and I'd say that Blue Jays, in spite of being a different animal, is easily superior and will get played far more frequently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Way ahead of its time, 31 Dec. 2003
This review is from: Forever Changes (Audio CD)
Every time I listen to this album I can't believe that it's from the sixties. Although a tad dated now (in 2003), it still held its own in the 80s and maybe even into the 90s. Probably one of the most underrated albums of all time. Anyone that wants to explore the history of popular music MUST explore this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bland and flat sound, lacking in vitality, 21 Dec. 2001

As others have said, a missed opportunity. The selection of tracks from a variety of live gigs just doesn't gel, there is little ambience and the sound lacks dynamism.
Contrast this with much the same material performed by PW on a Jools Hooland special TV show recently. There was a sharpness and vitality to this that made one prick up one's ears and listen.
Poor value for money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute drivel!!! A complete and utter waste of money, 30 Aug. 2001
This review is from: Behind Closed Doors (Paperback)
Incoherent, bland. A hotch potch of sketches lacking in any real sexuality or sensuality.
The scenes described are rigid & remote and do not conjure up any involvement from the reader. For example "We got undressed and took up our positions....".
The sex scenes, such as they are, are very short (a paragraph if you are lucky) and consequently give no impression of desire and urgency building during foreplay. Neither is there any descriptive narrative for the actual intercourse. It just happens and is over with in a sentence or two.
In fact it almost reminded me of Mills and Boon where the sex (that takes place) is never mentioned. The problem with this book is that it has nothing around the missing sex / erotica.
Avoid at all costs.
