A book to treasure.
Roald Dahls' work is superbly illustrated to hold the attention of the reader. This is one book that is exceptionally difficult to put down part way through any piece.
Warning - if you read one of these gems as a bedtime story to younger children you are likely to have them hanging on to every word right to the very last one. The imagination will be fired up for questions, and repeats will be wanted. Sleep is unlikely. You have been warned.

An absolute must for everyone who enjoys daft jokes. Equally good for 7 to 70 year olds, particularly if you tend to forget jokes pretty quickly.

What a treasure of a book this is.
A wonderful story, brilliantly illustated, that will hold the attention of all who read it. Pitched at exactly the right level for all youngsters under 7 - or even older ones having difficulty with their reading skills.
The only detriment is the grammatical error with the apostrophe, that should, of course, be after the word Gruffalos as it is showing possession not indicating a missing letter.

A lovely poem that was spoilt by the very drab illustrations.
The pictures matter so much to young children to aid visualisation that the drabness and dourness present here is a definite detriment.
