Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod with 410 (3275) Junior Geared Head
Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod with 410 (3275) Junior Geared Head

5.0 out of 5 stars Good solid tripod for astrophotography, 12 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Can't really comment on its use for 'normal' photography as I bought it specifically for use with my AstroTrac. However, I've found it to be a good solid well built tripod so far. It has a fair weight to it but it's not so heavy that you can't easily lug it about - certainly far lighter than my telescope mount. Nice an stable - which is what you want with a heavy DSLR or scope moving about on top of it on an AstroTrac. The geared head is obviously very useful for astro work as the alt az adjustments make precise polar alignment simple. Not sure how much use such a head is for general photography though. Being able to invert the central column or tip it over 90 degrees is a nice feature.
Basically, if you've going to buy an AstroTrac this is the tripod and head to get.

4.0 out of 5 stars I'ts OK as bulbs go :), 22 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fairly generic looking and not quite up to the build quality of say Philips but apart from that OK and besides they're not the sort of bulbs you have on show.

Word of warning to anyone like myself who naively assumed one PL-C bulb is much like another - they come in different lengths.
Bought one of these only to find it was slightly longer than last lot I bought and unfortunately a few mm too long to fit in the lamp housing. Considered returning it but not really cost effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product... close but not exact fit for D7100, 20 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Took a gamble and bought this for my D7100 based on previous reviewer's observation that has same size LCD as D600.
Needed something decent to protect the LCD as unlike the D7000 the D7100 has no standard Nikon plastic cover and no way of fitting one. Went for this protector as it is a self-adhesive glass plate about 1/2mm thick rather than the usual stick-on plastic things that offer little protection and always end up with trapped bubbles. Don't know how resilient it will be but going by the feel of it you'd have to hit it pretty hard to do any serious damage. Being glass it's at least as strong as the actual LCD and it's thick enough that nothing short of a direct blow is likely to get through to the LCD. Exactly the same issues keeping it clean as the actual LCD but again being glass shines up nicely using a lens cloth. Unlike the regular Nikon plastic covers this is sealed on (narrow self-adhesive strip around edge) so it is unlikely if not impossible for dust / moisture to get behind it.

Having said how brilliant it is, I feel I must point out that it's a good but not exact fit for the D7100 LCD and to be perfectly fair it's not meant for the D7100. If you take your time to position it, it will however properly cover the D7100 screen. Definitely worth having the LCD on at the time so that you can ensure it's aligned. It will come off again with care if you don't press it down to hard at first - as the instructions point out, it is glass so be careful not to bend it. It also came with a similar glass protector for the upper LCD but unfortunately this is about 1/2mm to wide to fit the D7100 (which is a shame).

If and when a D7100 version becomes available I'll consider switching but in the meantime this is an excellent alternative.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable value replacement part, 10 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Karcher Connection (Misc.)
I would give this five stars as it's probably as good as a plastic elbow connector is going to be.
However, if it was perfect then Karcher owners wouldn't have to keep buying the replacements and I wouldn't be reviewing this one :)
So far this one is holding up just fine so can't complain.
Quick an easy to fix assuming you've got the tools to remove the case (which you must have figured out if you're looking here).

Problem I (and lots of other users it seems) have is that eventually the connector starts leaking at the seams. Opinion is divide as to whether it's caused by accidentally knocking the connector (easily done as it sticks out and has a long host attached) or just the effect of water pressure. A solid metal connector would be better (if you're listening Karcher).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 10 July 2013

Can't really fault this product.
"Does what it says on the tin"
Certainly far more effective than blowing on lenses (which usually results in adding 'contaminants' rather than removing them).
Although it is not recommended for sensor cleaning it is reasonably effective if you invert the camera on a tripod (pointing at the ground) and blow air lightly upwards into the mirror box.
Always carry it in my camera kit now.

Set of 2 Siesta Sun Lounger Relaxer Recliners in Tweed Textoline.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money, 10 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are good value for money no-nonsense sun loungers.
They're not exactly deluxe but wasn't expecting them to be given the price.
So far seem good and sturdy and very comfortable.
Reclining is a bit of a knack I've found but OK once you've got the hang of it (if you've got long legs then it's tricky to shift enough weight backwards to tip it over into the reclined position).
Also worth noting that they don't fold up all that small if you have limited storage space or intend to transport them around (basically imagine the ones shown in the photo folded in half).

3.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, 4 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Based on previous reviews and the £40 price tag I was hopeful that it would work with my new Nexus 4.
Unpacked it, plugged it in, stuck my Nexus on top - nothing!
Moved it around - nothing.
As a last resort I removed the protective skin from my phone - got an alternating orange and green light.
Moved it about a bit more and eventually it started charging properly.
Returning it as for the money I'd expect it to work without having to remove the skin from my phone.
Guess it's OK if you don't protect your shiny new Nexus but I, like most people I suspect, do.
To be honest plugging the phone in suddenly seems far more convenient (and free).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good all-round corless drill, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having bought this I've now stopped using my faithful Bosch mains drill.
The built-in light is very useful.
Charges fast and has plenty of power.
Plenty of control with the variable speed trigger.
Only gripe is that if you release the trigger too fast the clutch tends to stop it so abruptly that the chuck loosens.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice comfortable fleece but tends to shed fluff, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As fleeces go this one is light, comfortable, fast drying and warm (as advertised).
Have found, however, that it sheds blue fluff everywhere :(
This may improve with washing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not overly impressed, 27 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Maybe I was just unlucky and got a faulty one but also wasn't too impressed with the build quality.
Possibly if I had a cheap scope I'd be prepared to try another one but now realised I should have gone for something a bit more up-market.
Initially thought that it wasn't working at all but having turned up the brightness full I managed to get the 'reticule' to glow.
However, even in complete darkness was unable to see anything reflected in the mirror - certainly not anything that could be used to target the scope with.
As I say, maybe I was just unlucky and got a duff one; the basic idea is sound enough but perhaps not quite up to the £40 price tag.
Now got to pay to sent it back :(
