we waited, and we waited , and there were times that we did,nt believe that it would ever happen or if it is was even true.lets get the one and only negative out the way.this need not have been a double album , but perhaps ant thought to include a track for every year he had been away? so we have a mixture of should have been left outs mixed in with best track ever candidates .cradle your hatred, and the nine inch nails esque shrink are absolute dynamite , hard men , vince taylor , marrying the gunners daughter are brilliant.to the few detractors who have submitted reviews let me say this , how does this compare to the unreleased persuasion album which apart from obsession was too similar to manners and physique .it felt forced, and if that was the sacrifice for the superior wonderful , it was the best thing that could have happened.this comeback is amazing not only from a musical point but from a human point.he made it, thankfully he made it !

Anyone who followed boxing in the 70s/80s will now in hindsight ,and with the boxing scene in its current and permanent decline appreciate how great the sport and its contestants really were.ray leonards win over hagler will forever remain in my top boxing comebacks, eclipsed only ,in my mind at least by roberto durans victory over iran barkley in 1989. do you agree?

for years had problem with rats in flat roof of kitchen. eventually had to pull the ceiling down when they chewed through electrics. the whole roof cavity was full of rat droppings. plugged all possible gaps , rewired, new ceiling. 2 years pass ,noise free, no scratching then one morning it returned. after all the upheavel with pest control and repairs was left bemused. done everything possible that could be done. last resort looked up this vermatik device with huge sceptisism however at time of writing all is quiet. so to anyone reading , i sympathise with your dilema , as pest problems can get you down i know, but this product is worth a shot .

dont believe anything you read about this film belonging in the same league as films such as man on a wire.to be allowed to describe the last 40 mins as hitchcockian is an absolute travesty.

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD BOOK GREAT FIGHTER, 22 Dec 2009

This review is from: Hit Man (Paperback)
Was initially thrilled to discover a well overdue book on the great Thomas Hearns. I have been a huge fan for years and although the book is accurate , the only slight letdown was there was,nt more depth about the man himself. Most importantly the book is honest and even though Hearns was/is my favourite fighter he did lose the two big ones, this should not however detract from his legacy. A huge part of Hearns appeal strangely was his own vulnerability , you never quite knew which way his fights would go.People will forever reference the Hagler match, but Hearns purists will acknowledge other memorable bouts such as his cruiserweight war with Freddie Delgado who had Hearns on the brink of defeat in several rounds. For sheer bravery I implore any one to seek out this fight, and although in his mid thirties still produced one hell of a display. The Hughes book was critical of his defences against the likes of Mark Medal ,although Hearns looked distracted in that bout I rememember moments of terrific switch hitting to body and head the likes of which are rare today. If Hearns had beaten Hagler and then Spinks as opposed to Roldan/Andries his four title feat would be held in higher esteem.A magnificent achievement never the less and a great read, enjoy as we may never see his like again !
