SABAT 2 - The Germany Years, 27 April 2012
Just read this, as per SABAT, never stopped laughing. I served on a different Squadron at Laarbruch the same time as the author and recognise many of the shall we say slightly altered names. All I can say is yet again the author has described my life as an aircraft technician in the RAF to a tee. Never a dull moment, many boring ones but you can always make your own entertainment. Its about time someone told the story from a RAF groundcrew point of view and this is as accurate as it gets. A big well done to the author, he can't half tell a story, must have sandbags all over his house. Given I have about 2 years left to serve, all that's left to say is, he beat me to it.

Amazing Cat, Guy and Story., 4 April 2012
Just finish reading this, what an incredible story. A timely meeting that appears to have been good for both James and Bob. Reading the book, Bob seems to know exactly what type of support James needs at any time, and vice-versa, true friends. Helping an injured cat back to health always, in my experience, results in a lifelong friendship and a friend with unquestioning loyalty. My wife and I have three cats, all with their own characters, behavior and extremely loyal. I saw James and Bob on the TV this morning and James said "Cats adopt people, people don't adopt cats". Never has a truer word been spoken, as all cat people will know. Cats are an excellent judge of character and will not stay if not wanted. This story should bring a tear to the eye of everyone who reads it. James and Bob, good luck for the future.

SABAT - Can't Stop Laughing - Describes My Life., 13 Mar 2012
Just bought this Kindle Book. Best 2.62 I've ever spent. I've served nearly three decades as an Aircraft Tech in the RAF, all on aircraft Squadrons. Have served in Germany plus many times in the Gulf and this book is dead on accurate regards us Squadron Groundcrew types and basically describes my career. The character descriptions and their behaviour is instantly familiar, can't stop laughing as it reminds me of myself, my workmates, my sub-ordinates and my superiors to a tee. Have never met the author during my service but he can't half tell a story. A great read, should be mandatory reading for all those who want to join the RAF as an Aircraft Tech. Amazon - Please publish this book in paperback form so guys that are deployed can keep it in their kit and give themselves a good laugh whilst away from home.

Samsung Galaxy S II, 15 Feb 2012
After many years as a HTC user I made the switch, what an awesome phone. Nice and bright screen, great sound and oustanding reception. As a plus it goes well with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and synchronises all my Adroid Apps between both devices.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 HDTV Adapter, 15 Feb 2012
Got to give this a 20 out of 10. 1. It allows me to watch my movies on TV's in the many places I travel to on hotel TV's that have an HDMI socket. 2. This is the more important one, theres many threads online about the Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 battery only being re-chargeable using a Samsung Charger, to do it using a none Samsung USB Charger invloves rooting the Tab 10.1 and given what I've read online this apparently invalidates the warranty. Well if you use this adapter as an interface it appears to charge the Tab 10.1 using any standard USB charger. Using this adapter I've charged my Tab 10.1 using a Portapow 2.1 Amp Mains Charger and a 2.1 Amp Car USB Charger/Cigarette Lighter adapter. Bet Samsung didn't plan for that. So a great device that solves a problem induced by design.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Case, 15 Feb 2012
Great case, suits the Tab 10.1 and at a great price, I travel a lot and its a pretty robust case that allows me to use the Tab 10.1 as a standup video player for my studies.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 15 Feb 2012
My wife has an iPad 2 but I'm more of an Android fan, I've had many Android smartphones. As such the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was the obvious choice for me and I've not been dissappointed. I've had the Tab 10.1 about a month now and have all my Open University notes on it as well as some aircraft maintenance manuals for work. I'm finding it invaluable for both work and study, web browsing, e-mail and my model aircraft flying, paragliding and photography hobbies. By far one of the best gadgets I've got that I never knew I needed.

Technically Amazing, 6 Jan 2012
What a great read. As the author states, by far the majority of books about space missions look at them from the exploration or astronaut point of view. Having a text that examines the technical requirements and innovations made to enable man to walk on the Moon in one book make a refreshing change. As a military aircraft engineer living in the UK, where engineering is under appreciated, its great to see the engineer rightly indentified as the individuals who made the Moon Landings possible. Well done W. David Woods and Springer Praxis Publishing.

Tamron AF 18-250mm Fitted To Sony A200, 19 Nov 2010
I purchased this lense to stop me having to swap between the standard Sony 18-70mm and a Tamrom 70-300mm lense. I'm in the RAF and take my camera everywhere, you never know when a good picture will appear. I also take it when I'm flying model aircraft and paragliding. As you can tell I'm no pro photog. So far its awesome, the picture quality for me is very good, no dark corners or distortion that I can tell. Some of the reviews I read prior to purchase mentioned a little of both, the guys doing those reviews are pro's looking at every pixel I suppose. For me its a winner. By buying it at Amazon I also saved myself 60 UK Pounds compared to Jessops or Dixons, so big thumbs up all round.

HT Hero Proporte Mitzu Shell - Charcoal, 19 Nov 2010
Just received this shell. After 6 months of trying various protection shells that are rigid, hybrid and silicon this one look promising. A little expensive initially but given the accumulated cost of the others that started to degrade or get damaged. This looks like a winner. It fits very snuggly, is quite tactile to hold and all the connections, cameras, speakers, buttons, etc are easily accessable with no snagging. I particularly like that the membrane goes over the volume controls but has flexible studs to enable its easy use. All in all a good bit of kit.
