4.0 out of 5 stars Confusing, 22 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The item I got (from Leading-Star) doesn't quite match the one advertised. It looks almost the same, with the same printing on it, but it definitely does not have any socket for auxiliary power input. Some of the pictures above seem to show a little square hole that could be a socket for a power supply, and the description says "connects up to 2 devices without a power adapter," which implies that it is possible (maybe necessary) to connect one, but there is no way to do so. The description also says "Indicator light status 1 power LED". There is a blue LED inside the device that shines out through the sockets when it is plugged into the computer, so nothing to do with any add-on power supply. I am uncertain whether I received the same item as the one illustrated and described. I certainly paid less than the current price. It does seem to be fine otherwise (it is USB2), though I am not sure what use four sockets are if only two will work without additional power which cannot be applied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily worth twice the price, 12 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Surprised by some of the negative reviews. Has everyone got the same item? Mine came from Euromart, less than £12 delivered, and is easily worth twice the price. You would pay this much for a low-end webcam. This has a screen and built in recording facilities, and the camera is decent too. One thing- you will need a biggish SD card. I set off today with a 4GB one, and the first part of my 12 mile round trip got recorded over by the time I got home. Maybe that's OK- you really only need the footage with the "incident", so pop the card out before you drive home from a fender-bender. The video (with sound) is recorded in chunks about 300 to 500 MB in size (apparently this depends on the setting for how many minutes per chunk, not size). If you power the camera from your cigarette lighter socket, it comes on and turns off automatically with the ignition. The mount stays put, maybe not in a wreck, but seems strong enough. I put a tripod quick-release between it and the camera so I could dismount the camera quickly and hide it in the glove box when I park the car.

To get English Menus (it's been posted before, but I couldn't find it when I wanted it, so here tis again):

The menus are in Chinese initially, so you have to navigate semi-blind to get to the language setting. You press the Menu button twice (first press brings up an incomprehensible Chinese menu, the second press gets you a different incomprehensible Chinese menu) then you press the down button to move the cursor down one slot to the button labelled in Chinese which means language setting. Then you press the red record button to select that option, and another little screen comes up with languages on it. These are labelled in the language that they select. You scroll through these to the language you want, probably English, and select it by pressing the record button again. Note that the record button is the one next to the on/off button on the body of the camera, not on the screen with the menu/down/up/mode buttons.

Now that you can see what you are doing, you can set quite a lot of things, especially the date and time stamp. Some of the settings (and specifications) are different from the ones in the paper "manual".

4.0 out of 5 stars Works on old tablet, 30 Nov. 2014
This review is from: All 4 (App)
Puzzled by all the failure to function comments. This worked for me. Mind you, I am using an old Advent Vega tablet rooted to VegaBean 4.1, so the rest of you are probably just too current. And I did download from the Google store not Amazon. One star subtracted because content won't play on my telly via the Vega's HDMI output (stops playing with an error panel when I plug in). ITV player doesn't have this limitation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy, 30 Oct. 2014

Nicely finished and bigger than I thought it would be (4 inch blade). The ceramic blade is slightly translucent and very sharp. It was late to arrive from niceEshop, but at this price (£2.49 delivered) you won't get a pot metal one on the high street.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recycle, 13 Oct. 2014
Couldn't wait for the post, so I pulled the little plug out of the blunt end of a dry refill (this brand) and filled it with Quink using an eye-dropper. Once the ink soaks into the porous insert, it writes like new.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright and well made, 2 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Really solid construction, nice finish, and bright. Lots of different suppliers and prices. I paid £1.82 and it arrived in less than ten days from Buyin-now-UK. Takes an AA battery. I don't think I will bother with an expensive battery upgrade. It's bright enough, and surprisingly small for the light it puts out.

Better quality than the ones from the 99 pence store, but not twice as good.
