5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT 'TEASING' PUZZLE!, 12 Aug 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Unlike the `Rubik's' Cube and Clock which always used to make my hands and fingers sore, `Cross Teaser' has very easy movement. One flicks the coloured pieces over in a sort of rotational pattern in order to match up both sides of the puzzle with blocks of the same colour - but with a space in the centre. Not at all easy to do, but due to the ease of movement of the quality parts, very enjoyable to practice.

A great puzzle tease which is extremely well-made!

4.0 out of 5 stars A little too easy..., 11 Aug 2014

Well-made and nice idea, and though I liked it, I found this terribly easy to do... I'm not usually good at these kinds of puzzles. yet do so enjoy having a go at them, but this seemed just a little too easy - even for me! Nicely made, and I want to keep it in my collection of handheld games and puzzles, but I doubt I shall ever get much ,ore pleasure from it...

5.0 out of 5 stars TWISTING TILES!, 10 Aug 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Very addictive - yet frustrating puzzle this one!

Like any sliding puzzle; you slide the tiles around to complete the puzzle - here it is the enigmatic image of the `Mona Lisa', the twist being (literally) the knob underneath that you push in and rotate, and then several of the outer tiles do the same in order to either help of hinder, to get the image the correct way up!

An intriguing and unique puzzle that I've not yet completed, but love spending time with it.

A game (as far as I know) that has never been out of print since it was first introduced more than fifty years ago!

Each player has four `cones' and the aim is to take your opponents cones as `prisoners' into your lair by `capping' them (landing on top of them) and carrying them all the way back home!

A very simple game - full of luck, but somehow never seems to disappoint! I have several copies of this game - all different editions from various eras. One of the nicest is the 1964 edition from `Spears', but there are a couple more equally attractive, including (rather surprisingly, as they usually make a mess of things today) a rather modern and more recent edition from 'Rocket's Toys'!

SUPER 3. RARE VINTAGE 1978 STRATEGY GAME BY MB GAMES

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'SUPER' GAME!!, 6 Aug 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
`Super 3' is a great game using dice.

Each player has a set of 64 pegs which they attempt to play on to the plastic table in various numbered holesn on the roll of two dice. The aim of the game is to score three in a row, and then the first to complete five boxes. Sounds easy - but there are a few twists along the way! If you roll a `2', you are able to remove an opponents peg - and then to take another go! If you roll a `7', then you get to play a peg in a centre hole! (this is not allowed an a standard turn) and finally, roll a `12', and you get to place a peg anywhere you like!

This is a great game that appears at first to be all luck - but becomes a skilful one by considering all your options!

Great little addictive game!

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU'RE DEFINITELY 'DEFLECTED'!!, 6 Aug 2014

A great game of skill and strategy where players attempt to get all eight of their counters, not only `home', but scoring the highest as they fall out the bottom into various scoring trays!

Each player has eight counters which they drop in at the top of the sliders. On each turn, a player has three options for a move; 1) to drop a counter in the slot, 2) slide one of the sliders along, or 3) move the scoring tray at the bottom. This game is never won until it's lost! You can take chances on high scoring - but you may just end up losing all your counters on the way!

A great game and very enthralling!

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLE - BUT BRILLIANT GAME!!, 5 Aug 2014

Very simple board game - almost entirely based on luck of the die - but immense good fun to play!

Game is BEAUTIFULLY designed with GORGEOUS and finely detailed playing figures! Brightly coloured and interesting playing board - lovely components in general. Even the robber figures have a backpacks where they can stash the loot they steal!

I LOVED this game! (even though I lost...) Was gaining my loot thick and fast! (until the cops caught up with me...) :-)

Highly recommended for family fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXPECT THE 'UNEXPECTED'!!!, 4 Aug 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
`Halma' is a deceptive game, in that it begins by not seeming to be such a good game if you've never played it before - but DON'T be fooled!

Players begin by taking turns in moving one of their nineteen pawns (if there are only two players - fewer pawns if there are more) one square in any direction - even backwards is allowed! When the game starts, one can be forgiven for thinking this seems a pretty pointless game as we did; repetitive, and a bit tedious.(all that moving - and nothing happening...) However; let the playing pieces meet up in the middle, and the excitement and action really begins!

It's each player's goal to get all of their `men' to the opposite side of the board - sound familiar? This is a goal that a lot of games feature, but the difference with `Halma' is; there is SO much more scope and confusion, because players are able to move in any direction - literally, and with no restrictions as many games with this kind of aim, and not only that, but you may `jump' over any playing piece (including your own!) and as many as you can - even moving backwards and forwards during the same turn! Once again; no limits! This is a good feature, because it leads to options of great strategy when opponents are frustrating you by aiming to play their pawns in a way that will block you - equally, you are able to play your own pawns in a way that will make a far quicker journey to the other side of the board by lining your men so that they can `use' each other in `leap-frogging' their way home!

This is a really good, exciting and unpredictable game when you get into it.

DECEPTIVELY good!!
