Understanding Biology for Advanced Level
Understanding Biology for Advanced Level
by Glenn Toole
Edition: Paperback
Price: £41.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it and hate it, 11 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I love this book, well written, very well use of flow diagrams, and exams question at the end of each chapters. But, the problem is after you read the textbook, you still can't answer the exam's question. The reason is the textbook doesn't contained the information you will need to answering the question.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it, 28 Dec 2013
I just finish watching Death comes to Pemberley in BBC. The acting of Mr Wickham (Matthew Goode) so wooden. I don't mind if they hang him straight away. At the end, the whole drama doesn't really explain why Captain Denny went to that cottage in the first place suddenly?

"practical resource to bridge the gap between expensive reference texts and smaller manuals' but this book is exactly small and expensive.

The Rise of Modern China
The Rise of Modern China
by Immanuel C. Y. Hsü
Edition: Paperback
Price: £37.99

4.0 out of 5 stars The best Chinese History Textbook, 28 Nov 2011
However, I think past 10 years , China has been changing a lot. This book really needs a update. Such as shame, the good book like that no one want to update it and continuous its magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars this is the best, 28 Jan 2011
I studied complex analysis before and I found it this book better than Ian stewart's complex analysis book: THE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE PLANE. Maths is the subject to learn by doing. Ian stewart's book doesn't give you any hints and solutions for the exercise in his book. So, How do you know you are in the right trend? Honestly, I would never reach the complex plane without Spiegel's Complex variables.

Please prove me if and only if I am wrong.

1.0 out of 5 stars york notes no longer for Eng Lit student anymore, 23 Sep 2010
I agree with the most of the readers regarding to the York Notes, new vision of York Notes is getting bigger but its no longer accurate and completely waste of your time and your money. So I suggested that try Allan Philip vision, its much better and cheaper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do you want to learn economics or NOT?, 9 May 2010
As a Postgraduate student in Accounting and student member with CIMA. That is the most horrified economics textbook I have never read. I would like to suggested that get the Mankiw economics textbook instead of this book. It will cost you a bit more money, but worth it. I give one star because of nice book cover, thats all.

5.0 out of 5 stars A far much better text book than Biggs's Discrete Mathematics, 10 Jan 2010
if you want to really understand the magic of discrete maths. At same time,to have fun, when you finish reading the chapter, and try to do some exercises after that. This is a textbook for you. For example, if you read Relations and Functions chapters in this textbook. I have to say this is the best. I read so many Maths textbooks, but nothing like that before, in a funny and clear way to explain complicated concept in Mathematics. Be honest, I still don't know how they make it so simple than any others Discrete Mathematics textbooks in the market. I used Biggs Discrete Mathematics before, many years ago. What a horrible book, it really stop people want to learn and understand Maths.
