Too much effort to use - complex and time consuming to actually get measuremens in and the eventual results are bland, clunky and old fashioned.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I like this - very intuitive, nothing fancy - but it enabled me to build and publish my own professional website for my consultancy business. Fully professional look and feel, without the cost and time of going to a web designer - and totally in my control regards updating and changing - just make the changes, publish them to the site and it's done. No fuss, no issues, no cost, no waiting.

A smooth liquid, easily absorbed and matt enough to use without transluscent powder over the top. However it did feel bit "pansticky" - not natural enough for me.

Good quality construction and internal ceramic bowl, and easy to use - does just what you'd expect. Only issues I have is that you need to heat/start cooking liquids and some main ingredients before putting in - you can't just load it up and let it go. Also lack of timer/programmer does mean that you have to time your return based on 6/8 hour cooking times. That said, slow cooking produces brilliant results - and you do get a useful booklet with recipe ideas.

Two genuine greats getting together at the height of their powers to make quite brilliant music. These are classic, thumping blues tracks where the guitars siiiing - the two great men feeding off of each other and simply revelling in their powers and shared enjoyment.

Typical tracks are 8 minutes plus and could simply roll along forever if they'd been allowed - there's so much talent to squeeze in. If you like supreme electric guitar playing, heavy blues, or even that jazz vibe of a tight-knit group flowing together in perfection, then you'll revel in this. And the recording is bright and true, with that raw edge you get with a 'live' experience.

For the money, this is a ridiculous feast. Try the last track - "Don't Lie to Me" and just listen to that amazing bass riff and hammond organ drive which then allows Stevie and Albert to work their magic on top. Supreme. No wonder Albert can't resist breaking into a chuckle half way through - can it possibly get any better?

5.0 out of 5 stars Something Great About Humanity, 2 May 2010

Yes it's wartime propaganda, yes it's so frightfully stiff upper-lipped, and yes it's full of stock 'ordinary' sailors puffing out their chests for King & Country. BUT it's so much much more than this, and well worth going back to and reassessing. First of all, it contains shards of true genius. Coward as writer and actor at his best - with a cast you could not equal. David Lean's eye, which means you get images and scenes that are as good as it gets (seeing the men run outside into the rain at action stations whilst a gun is wound out in readiness over them...following the journey of a shell from the hold up into the gun...). And with a subtle, telling story and writing that is truly great (a family picnic on the Downs with planes dogfighting overhead - modestly brilliant). And above this there is a certain essence - the essence of britishness, the essence of why we were able to fight the war how we did and who we are now as a consequence. I found it deeply moving at every turn, and 'true' in everything that matters. Just watch Celia Johnson as she picks up the telegram and knows she has to open it - just the tiniest hint of recoil. And a scene where the Captain shakes the hand and says farewell to each of his surviving men in turn - unhurried, eye to eye and hand to hand. I didn't expect to respond quite like this - but there is something great about humanity distilled into every frame of this great work.

Essentialy this is a parade of type specimens. Don't expect many examples of how they've been used - you won't get pages from the classic books. But what you do get is a feast of type design and images, extremely beautifully presented, and put together in a quality, handsome package. When you look at the quality of the photo-reproduction, the paper, the design, and the solidity of the binding, you are presented with a book that you want just to pick up, handle, flick through, open, read, or simply put down and admire. Multi-language introductory text, and emphasis more on American and Continental examples and light on the UK - but having said that, for the price, a must have delight for anyone with an interest in type, design, or simply owning a superbly crafted book. I also have the earlier volume one - what a treat to sit them together on the shelf - fantastic. Oh yes - if that's all not enough, you also get a free keycard that allows you to access all the material online.

5.0 out of 5 stars ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!, 6 Mar 2010

Look - it's quite simple. This film is is 24 carat pure enjoyment. Yes, we've seen this sort of set up before, we've seen similar 'peril' situations, and the same plots and twists. So what? This is just unalloyed pleasure from first to last. Wit, visual style and ZOMBIE NAZIS IN THE SNOW! What more could you ask? Invest a few quid, sit back, and bask in silly, smart pure pleasure. I like to think I'm a bit of a film fanatic and enthuse over Bergmann, Tarkovsky and the rest - but when SS zombies emerge en masse on a snowy moutainside, there's nothing better - it hits all of the right buttons all at once. Fantastic.

This works on many levels and is a superlative buy on every one of them. Biber's work for the violin is incredible - the beauty, complexity, uniqueness (he re-tuned the violin to get the range of sound he wanted) is captaviating and a joy. But then with this work he achieved something else. This is a musical representation of the life of Christ, and manages to both describe the episodes with sound, and feed the profound contemplation of the depth and meaning of what each means. If you are a believer this would be a transformational experience. But if like me you are not, it still carries an awe-inspiring impact and beauty. I can only compare it to, say, looking at the greatest paintings of the same subjects. The 'Annunciation' is almost scary in its brilliance: want to experience what it would be like to be in the room with an Angel? You can almost hear the words and hear the fluttering of wings. Take a look at Fra Angelico's paintings of the same scene and you'll get a feel for how this music can move you in the same way. The arrangement and backing instruments are spot on, the musicianship incredible, and the sound quality/production top-notch. I cannot rate this highly enough.

Bought two batteries (one to run as spare) and car charger to bring my ailing and aging A55 back to full life. For the money you might expect something of 'make do' quality - but the standby and talk life I'm getting from these batteries is excellent - total bargain.
