5.0 out of 5 stars Must-read knowledge and wisdom. It doesn't get much better., 16 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is knowledge and wisdom designed for the street. Not the gym (so much) or the military. Bare this in mind. Some reviewers will mark down because a book doesn't cater for their art or purpose. Though having said this, Fighters Fact book2 does have a very broad spectrum of ideas that I'm sure could be applied almost anywhere that physical conflict is likely going to happen.

The writing style is easy and enjoyable to read, and ranges from technique explanations, anecdotal referencing, to what can only be described as "street wisdom". Many years of experience are handed to you in this volume. And wonderfully compiled by the author.

It is definitely a must for anyone; teacher, student, policeman, soldier, sailor, tinker, or tailor. Anyone who studies any martial art, or practises any system. You will learn much from this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 16 Feb 2012
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a big let down.

If you are after something that encapsulated and adds to the thrill and experience of the film, then this is not it.

The game has good concepts and ideas, but doesn't go anywhere with them.
The graphics are ok, but there isn't enough to explore or do.
Once you have completed it in it's entirety (about two hours), that's it. Zero replay value.

It could have been a decent game, if not for the rushed efforts that went in to make cash from the film.
Shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars MGS is Back, 9 Feb 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
A must for all MGS fans out there. Perfectly recreated for play in high definition. Nearly all the games and their content have been upscaled, only missing a few menu options in MGS3 and one or two game diversions in MGS2. Would have been great to see the original MGS fro PlayStation added into this, but it does feature the two really old origin l games complete in all their 8bit quality.

all-together a very well made HD Collection, shows that MGS even in it's age can still keep up with the modern games market.

These dice are well made and just perfect for playing an authentic game of Liars Dice if you can't afford real antique ox-bone dice.
Made of nicely weighted dense plastic with clearly painted black spots. Haven't found any blemishes in manufacture yet.

Great dice in an off-White colour. Very piratical.

Came within the delivery estimated time (just).
Good purchase. Very pleased.

TeckNet® iPhone 4G & 4Gs Genuine Leather Case

4.0 out of 5 stars Good case, 22 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered this case for my new iPhone 4 as it does need protection due to the front and back glass panels.
This case is pretty good, the brace for the phone is fairly strong and hold the phone very snugly in it's clasp, no amount of shaking will loosen it, as it locks in place around the phone body edges with a 1mm lip.

The finish on the product is of good quality and the stitching is nice and neat and the phone cradle is central to the backing panel o the case (others are not quite central and are offset slightly by poor manufacture)
My only gripe it's that it uses a handbag type magnetic popper to hold the case closed as opposed to an invisible magnetic clasp, it's not too much of an issue but you can't just swing it closed, you have to locate the clasp manually.

As for the "antenna assist" I'm not quite sure as the case it completely made of non conductive material, the othe thing I can think is that it stops users from putting pressur on the phone edge that causes the reception to fail.

All in all, a very nice case for very little money. Especially considering your avarice flip case will set you back £10-£20 on the highstreet.

Good buy.

Very pleased with this item.
6 front and 6 back protectors for your precious iPhone 4. A must for means I work in a kitchen.
Other reviewers have commentented on poor quality but these are standard semi adhesive screen protectors and with a little effort and know-how they go on very well.

To help some people out - first make sure your screen and back are very very clean and free from dust and grease. I use a tiny amount of fairy liquid on a clean peice of tissue to clean the surface of grease entirely, make sure you then make sure all the detergent is cleaned off also as it leaves a residue.
Roll the protector on from one end to the other using a hard straight edge and only peel the under-mask off as much as you need when rolling it on and press firmly with your straight edge to push andy air out from underneath before it adheres to the screen.
This should ensure a perfect finish.
The screen protector can be adjusted for fit after applying by placing your thumbs on the protector and using a degree of pressure "sliding" the protector into place for a perfect fit.

Mine went on perfect first time, and now I have 5 left for when these need changing.

Good product at a good price.

I ordered this for someone who is a huge MJ fan so it went down well understandably. But on previewing the product before I gave it to them I noticed a few things;
Firstly the production on the DVD isnt very good atall, more like VHS than DVD. and some of the videos were cut short, Smooth Criminal (my personal favourite) wasn't even the right video, it was a montage from Moonwalker with clips from Smooth Criminal worked into it.
The DVD case itself is a clear plastic one which is quite brittle and a little cheap looking.

It's surely a good part of anyones MJ collection as it goes with the Number Ones CD but there are better produced MJ DVDs out there. Probably better produced Number Ones DVDs too.
For the price though - you get what you pay for I guess.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is NOT a self denfence manual, 4 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Firstly let me point out that in no uncertain terms this is not a book on self defence, nor does it conform to the laws inplace in most contries and if you use one of these techniques in full on an attacker outside the pub on a friday night you will be had for man-slaughter at least.

This is the USMC LINE system of close quarter fighting, and as it says in the title "fighting", it is designed to be efficient, army efficient.

If you want a book that gives pretty indepth glimse into military hand to hand fighting, i would recommend this book, it is of decent size (200 odd pages) and follows a consistent format - basic attacks and defenses right up to advanced moves.

The illustrations are hand drawn and in black and white which does not add to the clarity, but the moves are well explained in step by step instructions.

All in all this is a good 'fighting' manual, it is well written and very down the point. Definitely a good addition to the martial arts/hand to hand fighting library, glad I bought it. Lots of information for a good price.

Sabatier Lion 20cm Cooks Knife
Sabatier Lion 20cm Cooks Knife

4.0 out of 5 stars A classic of cooking, 29 Mar 2010
I am a chef so I demand alot from my equipment, and a good Sabatier knife in the hand is worth to in the kitchen sometimes.

The knives are very well made and an excellent mid-range knife to buy if your on a bit of a budget or just don't fancy paying an extra £20-£30 for a Wusthof or Global knife. Sabatier really are a staple in cuisine.

If looked after this knife will never let you down and will last years, indeed there is an old 12" Sabatier in a utnesil bucket in my kitchen which must have been kicking round for at leat a few years and even that one is still in good shape even after the neglect it's suffered.

On the down side they are a heavy knife and will become demanding on the hands if used continuously, espeially the large ones (8" and over), but thats the only con, and you'll get used to it. The reason why I have given it four stars instead of five is simply because it it is a mid-range and there are better knives out there (though not in this price bracket).
Great for the professional kitchen and great at home, highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, 16 Mar 2010
Thankfully I did not buy this set I had it bought for me.

To sum it up neatly; Cheap and nasty.

The steel is cheap drawn steel, apparently it is 'stainless' but within a week or so the blades and rivets were showing surface rust.

The knives are fairly sharp to begin with but do not hold their edge atall. The sharpening steel is a cheap continetal style that 'grabs' the blade and thus notches easily. (Before you say it's because I dont know what i'm doing, I know how to use a steel, I am a Chef.).

The handle material is cheap plastic and showed hairline fractures that lead to sections of the handle falling off in a little under a month of use.

The ustensils other than the knives are ok I guess, the scissors seem to be holding out ok, as does the peeler.

These knives before you ask were not used in a professional kitchen for 16 hours a day everyday, they were used at home on a daily basis and showed these signs of poor manufacture within 2 months (as a broad time margin). If you were to make the mistake of using them for college or god forbid; in a real kitchen, they would fall apart in a few days.

Look elsewhere.
