5.0 out of 5 stars total agreement!!, 23 Aug. 2012

This album is great! One of my most played Warrant cd's. i love everything they did and got into them via cherry pie and am glad they constantly evolved with each album. Unfortunately a lot of Jani Lane's true life unhappiness manifests itself in these recordings and if you look into the lyrics you could see a burn out coming a mile off.
Anyhow if you are thinking of buying this then be prepared to be patient with it as its a deep album. Theres no cherry pie here but their early stuff is great too. god bless Jani Lane....

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rock Album!!!, 22 Aug. 2012
What a great find this was!! Had no idea this existed until Jani Lanes sad passing away and after a year thought it was time to give this another spin. Basically if you like the hard edged American rock sound of the 80's then you cant really go to far wrong. Alice Coopers guitarist meets Warrants singer meets Ratts rythmn section. All the songs hold up and there are no clunkers. great cd for the car. i hope jani is at peace now and i am truly grateful for his musical output over the years and this is way up there!

4.0 out of 5 stars well worth purchasing!!, 4 Sept. 2011

Jani Lane's Back down to one CD is a very worthwile purchase for anyone who likes Warrant or Saints of the Underground. After Jani's recent passing i thought i would fill in a few blanks of his catalogue and am really glad i bought this.
The songs are rocky and catchy and the album is never boring to my ears. has been in my car stereo for the last fortnight. Great Stuff from a great artist who sadly was pidgeonholed as a hit single pop-metal guy when he really was so much more than that.
Rest in peace Jani Lane...

4.0 out of 5 stars great but...., 10 Jun. 2011
This review is from: Live At Donington 1990 (Audio CD)
i have to agree with the chap who said about the editing, its a shame that despite the blistering sound quality, its been tampered with. adrian vandenbergs solo where he went out of key in slide it in has been "fixed" and coverdales vocals in is this love i believe have been mixed down/ tampered with too. whether this bothers you or not is individual opinion but those that are buying it as a souvenir of an occasion should be aware of this.
i am glad i bought this though as its a great statement of the times when rock music was fun and carefree. you have to thank coverdale and co for that. i must also say that surely some of the solo spots could have been curtailed for a couple more good album tracks.

ok, here goes...
first and foremost, this is ozzy's greatest album and though it maybe 30 years old, it still totally stands up as his finest effort. a great band with one of the greatest rock guitarists ever. this album IS the original recordings remastered not the spiteful (sharon ordered) re-recordings of 2002.
the bonus live concert is worth paying for alone as it really is fantastic. this could be re-released every year and will probably always make my album of the year.
i love ozzy but a steady decline ensued after this (although i love the jake e lee era too)mind you, how do you top this???
blizzard of ozz, diary and tribute... god bless you randy rhoads....

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic!!!!!, 17 Jan. 2011
After reading the other reviews of this i feel i have to put my pennys in. Ive been a white lion/mike tramp fan since the 80's however i only just bought this album. i read the reviews and nervously clicked add to cart and im so glad i did.
its a great live rock album and appears to be a very raw and genuine recording. It dosnt matter that its not got Vito Bratta on it as the songs are still there. i also have to disagree with another reviewer critisicing tramps "lazy" vocals. i think its important to remember that he is no longer in his 20's and so the high notes have gone and the guitars are tuned down but he gives a great performance.
Times have changed but its always great to hear these tunes and for those still interested in tramp, check out his solo work especially "more to life than this and the rock and roll circuz". i am a huge fan of tramp and long may he continue to write and perform as hes a genuine hard working artist.
a great album by a still great band.
buy it, you'll love it!!!

After ready some of the reviews on here of the latest heart cd i have to say that this really is very good. It seems to be getting a very mixed reaction like that of Jupiters Darling which in my opinion is hearts strongest cd. I pre ordered Red Velvet Car and it is worth every penny. lets hope for more heart product soon!!
oh and seeing as robert plant dosn't seem to interested in reforming Led Zeppelin with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham, maybe Jimmy Page should give Ann Wilson a call....

5.0 out of 5 stars kiss alive!, 1 May 2010
This review is from: Alive (Audio CD)
i bought this vinyl lp back in 1989. it completely blew me away then as it does now.
this is the version you have to own not the big box version. i have that and the transformation to cd is very patchy with some horrible distortions. This version, however, is bang on. a perfect remaster.
enough of all that, kiss greatest ever acheivement with greatest line up, recorded the greatest live cd of all time. ace frehley is the standout by a mile.
i marked when i bought this lp on my calendar (01/05/89) and i celebrate every year as it really dosn't get much better. sadly the greed machine keeps churning but remember this was way before that so put your headphones on and turn it up and i promise you will be there back in the 1970's when kiss were worth a deuce!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars classic stuff!, 19 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Backstreet Symphony (Audio CD)
what a tremendous debut album! I dont think theres a duff track in sight and everytime i listen to it it takes me back to watching Thunder at the cornwall coiseum in St. Austell in december of 1990. We met all the members backstage and they didnt leave until everything was signed for everybody. This is a reminder of what good rock music should sound like. Sad to hear they are calling it a day. if you down own this you simply have to buy it. their greatest album!!!!!!!
