This is a joke gift for my boss, whose handwriting is worse that a toddler's. Very funny Christmas present which I hope doesn't get me fired!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but didn't suit my needs, 19 Dec. 2012

It does not screw on to my icing syringe and the base is too narrow for my icing bags. Item is fine in itself, it just didn't suit my needs so I couldn't test it properly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 19 Dec. 2012

Needed a squeeze bottle for homemade caramel. A standard small tin of cooked caramel condensed milk, goes into this perfectly. Nozzle is slightly thin for my needs but literally by about half a millimetre, and I just prefer thick caramel personally. Very happy with the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful piece, 12 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The book comes in a high quality hardback, with a large, removable, doublesided fold out map in the back. It has an elasticated blue thread which pulls from the back around to wrap around the front cover to hold it shut, which is a really nice touch.

The writing is in clear sections, and for a book not much more than 120 pages long, is FULL of information. The old style newspaper layout immediately sets you in mind of the Ankh-Morpork times, and the beautiful cover makes you think of an encyclopedia.

I was shocked at the sheer amount of info given, in true Ankh-Morpork style, and written in Terry Pratchett's classic humour. If you want a book to take on holiday with you, this probably won't fit, but if you have just finished a few of the Discworld books and want something related to that wonderful world, you'll be in stitched with this and the other recent Discworld add on, Turtle Recall.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dark photographs ruin the book, 20 Aug. 2012
This review is from: Tattoo Showcase (Paperback)
I love the Lal Hardy Tattoo cooks but this one is repetitive and the majority of the photgraphs are very dark, making it a struggle to see and appreciate the images. In each section, there is little variety and this makes the book less enjoyable than it could have been.

It's on sale cheap enough on Amazon that if you want to bulk out your tattoo book collection then by all means go ahead and buy, but the poor photography means you will have a hard time of it adapting any of the images into your own designs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very big book, lots of designs, 21 July 2012
This has a range of flash in categories: America, International, Animals, Aquatic, Banners, Baroque, Biker, Auto, Birds, Body specify, Butterflies, Insects, Calligraphy, Cartoons, clowns, Design/Background fill, Devils, Demons, dRagons, Earth & Sky, Fairies, Fantasy, Gambling, Vices, Geek, Hearts, Flowers, Irish, Celtic, Professions, Religious, Skulls, Death, Symbols, Tribal, Zodiac, Zombies, Monsters. It's about 500 pages long and slightly bigger than the Tattoo Sourcebook. It doesn't contain photos of real life tattoos, so bear that in mind. Fantastic starting point if you wish to get some new ideas - butterflies in the colours of your national flag, the way a banner can be wrapped around or through certain items, Day of the Dead style skulls, basic shapes made into or something else, images for all parts of the body, all are in this book. It even has a fold out full back design so you can see in detail how the design would look. Some of the designs are tongue in cheek, some are exquisite. Overall, it's a really fantastic book for the price - it's twice as thick as the old maths textbooks from school so you get a lot for the price.

Destined: Number 9 in series (House of Night)
Destined: Number 9 in series (House of Night)
by Kristin Cast
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, 4 Nov. 2011
One thing you need to bear in mind that is that while the characters are having sex occasionally in the series, and they swear - they do talk like seven year olds sometimes. There's a lot of 'Oh Em Gee, really?!?!?!' type conversation. It can wear on the nerves quite steadily, as characters of this age do not speak like that.

However, that being said, this is one of the better books in the series. Cast's character definition, which was sorely lacking in the last few, comes into play in Destined. At least two characters mature, and we get insights into two of the favourites. The storyline works, and the change near the end of the books is suprising but believable. In the last few books, it felt like the storyline was being stretched far too thinly, and the plot was often meandering and dry - in this book though, it comes back to being fast paced withou being rushed. Much more like the P C Cast we know!

Viggo Mortensen is utterly believable as a good man under duress who is led astray. His character's awkward, fumbling demeanor is utterly endearing and lovable. Jason Isaacs plays a strong supporting role, and his face shows the emotional backlash of betrayal like no one else.
The story is sad, beautiful, and captivating. One to keep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eclectic film, 30 Nov. 2010

This movie is just as weird and strange as The Mighty Boosh was! There is more depth to it than the TV show though, and Simon Farnaby as Bull steals the show; he is just hilarious. A must watch for Boosh fans, though if you haven't watched these types of shows before, you might not get the quirkiness of it - it is bizarro land!
