4.0 out of 5 stars Product good, packaging poor!, 18 Jun 2014

Diary good but packaging was inadequate for weight. There were dents in the edge in the diary on both ends. A Jiffy bag was just not good enough!

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor, 15 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This piece of kit was quite easy to connect and work. The instructions are poorly written and only show what to do if everything goes according to plan. Hit a snag and you will be on to the help line! Although very helpful, better instructions would possibly remove the need. After downloading three albums, there has now developed a fault that let's you run the whole album, (real time) , then at the end, a message tells you the gadget has stopped working! Back to the start!
After a few hours of this nonsense, I threw the gadget into the back of the cupboard for good. Life is too short.
If you are a computer geek type of person, you may enjoy this sort of thing. I couldn't be bothered!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing., 15 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
An interesting book, with lots of previously unseen pictures. This book views motorcycling from a social history point of view and puts the scenes into the context of the time. Unfortunately, there are many problems with the captions with inaccuracies, some quite obvious. To anyone with a knowledge of vintage motorcycles, it is disappointing, just looking to find the errors!
In short, a worthy buy but don't view as a work of reference.

3.0 out of 5 stars What about the rest?, 5 Mar 2014

This review is from: The Is Born Series [DVD] (DVD)
I like Mark Evans. These DVDs are informative and entertaining. However, we were not told that, in effect, these are highlights from the TV series and do not include all the content! At least half of the "Plane is Born" is missing where he learns to fly and takes his pilot exams! Also, none of the American reports are present in "a Chopper is Born"
I feel cheated!

5.0 out of 5 stars A super book let down by the cover, 5 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was a beautifully written and detailed account of the development of all the bikes I remember from my early biking career. I feel the cover will put off many readers as it looks like so many other "coffee table" bike books with pretty pictures and little else! I found it informative, incredibly well researched and difficult to put down. I notice the cover pictures were also by the author and were very well done but I feel the book would fare better with some period picture(s) to accentuate the serious nature of the text. Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Enlightening and detailed., 5 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For someone with a passing interest in the role of motorcycles in WW1, the book may seem heavy going. For me, the detail was everything and although not a book to cherry pick bits , for a concerted read, was very fulfilling. I came away with a much greater understanding of the part played by the dispatch rider, not only in delivering messages, but to the overall coherence of a large army in the field. Excellent and highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Waste of Money, 5 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have found this guide disappointing. Although the details of some of the various attractions was informative with some good illustrations, the guide is difficult to navigate, especially if you are looking for a particular place and what is available there. Some places I wished to visit are not even mentioned! After twenty minutes of trying to make sense of the layout, I gave up and went back to a twenty year old Shell guide. A waste of money!
