Mooch the Messy Meets Prudence the Neat
Mooch the Messy Meets Prudence the Neat

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a charming story and should be sent to every untidy boy or girl., 22 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A delightful, charming and simple story - it is the sequel to "Mooch the Messy". Mooch the rat is the most untidiest rat ever. He has a new neighbor - "Prudence the Neat ". She is very friendly but as tidy as Mooch is messy, and she loves nothing better than to tidy up a mess
Read how the two rats cope and solve the difference in personalities.
I would recommend that this book be sent to every untidy little boy or girl, or to a little girl who is extra specially tidy. .

5.0 out of 5 stars Black Jack - One of the best films, 8 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Black Jack [DVD] [1979] (DVD)
This is one of the best films made. It has an amateur tone that really makes the film, and is totally realistic. The skill of the Director and Producer has made this film very absorbing and entertaining. Highly recommended. I am very pleased that this film has at last been made into DVD. The only thing that spoils it is the small Director's cuts in the DVD (that were not in the VHS) - that were not needed.

3.0 out of 5 stars defects and qualities of the NW700, 6 Jan 2013
I have had this for about one month.
DEFECTS
1. Don't position it near a central heating outlet as the steam will switch it on.
2. Don't position it close to ivy or trees as they will switch it on.
3. On a sunny day - the sun will blind the camera - as it will shine directly into it.
4. The instructions warn you not to take the sd card out if the camera is recording, but it is almost impossible to get near the nightwatcher without it coming on automatically. I took the sd card out while it was recording and it corrupted the sd card. It would not reformat and I had to throw it away.
5. The sd card supplied was only 2 GB. This may be ok it the camera only switches on two or three times a day, but get a larger SD card for anything more - they are quite cheap.
6. Don't try to switch it off with a bamboo cane - I did and the cane went into the switch off button and broke it.
7. It needs to be positioned some distance from the area you want secure otherwise you will not be able to tilt the angle of the camera low enough.
8. The camera detects the thief and switches on, but then immediately scans the other areas, only giving a fraction of a second on the thief.
9. If the thief is moving then the immage is slightly blurred. If the camera then moves, then the immage is just one blur and you will not be able to recognise the thief.
10. The thief needs to be within 4m (12ft) of the camera, otherwise the light will not be able to reach him. The light, however, is dazzlingly bright - too bright to welcome visitors.
11. The camera should be positioned between 2m and 3m above ground. This would allow the thief to switch it off, and disconnect it, to sell in the neaarest pub.
GOOD POINTS
Everything else. We put one near our front door, and turned the camera to people watch in the street, rather than scan the front door. Better than watching telly. Nightwatcher NW500 LED Robotic Security Light, Black

4.0 out of 5 stars Range of Binatone 950, 16 Nov 2011
I bought the Binatone 950 because it claimed to have a range of up to 10 Km (6 miles). I had hoped that I would be able to hear it from my allotment 1 mile away. I can hear it very rarely from this distance - most of the time all I get is crackling. There are many hoses between the phones and this seems to be the problem. I bought a microphone for it which seems ok, but I wonder if a seperate arial would omprove the reception. There is no provision for this on the phone. The reception without the houses inbetween is probably ok even up to 10 Km.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best hymn book, 9 Jun 2011
This hymn book does not have the modern hymns and songs that have been composed in the past thirty years but is the best hymn book, to date, with most of the good Revival hymns that were sung in the past. Some of the modern hymns are so good that we have tended to forget the hymn of old but these old hymns will be remembered and sung again for they have a depth that is not in most of the modern hymns.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Literal Translation, 20 Dec 2008
This review is from: Emphasized Bible (Hardcover)
A truly excellent literal translation. It brings out aspects of the Bible in a thrilling way. Written in the later half of the 19th Century, it is a MUST for every student of the Bible. Highly recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars The Borrowers (an early version), 20 Dec 2008
This review is from: The Borrowers [1973] [DVD] (DVD)
This is the earliest version of the Borrowers on DVD and it captures a lot of the charm shown in the later BBC series. It is still very amateur with some bad acting but it is never-the-less well worth getting.
The story gives just one of the tales of the Borrowers by Mary Norton.

The Borrowers - Series 2 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Ian Holm

Price: £4.99

5.0 out of 5 stars The Borrowers - Series 2, 20 Dec 2008
This is the second series of a delightful adventure by Mary Norton, for children and adults. It is about little people that have to live, like mice, by borrowing from us bigger people. This version carries the fear and mistrust that the little people have of the us bigger people. It stars Ian Holm.
There is some amateur graphics in it but that is more than compensated by the warmth and charm that it shows.
The Film - "The Borrowers" staring John Goodman comes no-where near the quality in this BBC series.
It is a pity that series 3 is not yet available on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Redemption Hymnal, 20 Dec 2008
This review is from: REDEMPTION HYMNAL
This is the best Hymn Book you can buy, if you want a large collection of the hymns that were sung in the revivals of the 19th and 20th Centuries. It was widely used in most charismatic churches until the Worship Songs came in in the 1990s.
