3.0 out of 5 stars Am i missing something?, 20 May 2016
Ok, i am a MASSIVE fan of Resident Evil. I love the old ones, RE2 in particular is just pure joy to go through again and again. I also really enjoy the newer ones. Revelations 2 has a great story and is fun to play, RE5 is a blast, RE6 for all it's flaws is still good braindead fun. Then there's RE4 and Resident Evil Remake which are probably the best from both styles. Revelations has been put on somewhat of a pedestal as the game that RE6 should have been. Personally, this game is probably my least favourite main series title. The game has a great premise and the ship is a fantastic setting. It rivals the mansions and police stations of the originals and the atmosphere of RE4's village. If ONLY the entire game was on the ship. But it's not, this game jumps from one character to another character and honestly the only ones i gave a damn about are Chris and Jill. What is it with Capcom and wanting to keep these two apart? Jill's new partner Parker and Chris' new partner Jessica are pretty pointless. The whole addition of a partner is also totally pointless. Remember how in RE5 and 6 you're partner would actually have your back? They could heal you, resusitate you, give you ammo, smack enemies off you... In revelations no word of a lie your partner STANDS and watches you get eaten! They follow you around, can't kill anything, can't exchange items. Nothing. Without co op i can't understand why Capcom forced this partner upon you. Back to the characters.... they are the most annoying in the series. You thought Rebecca from RE1 was annoying? You'll wish you had her back after dealing with Jessica. The story is probably the most messy in the series and the characters movement and controls feel like a work in progress. In RE5 in particular, you feel powerful, you're movements are weighty. In Revelations you're characters almost float around and don't control as well. I dunno, it's not a bad game to add to your collection and there are MUCH worse games out there, but me personally, id rather take RE6 and it's action heavy but FUN gameplay than Revelations and it's over glorified reputation. And before any of you say im an action noob who dosen't get what RE is supposed to be about, i spent my time in high school playing this series, iv played and beaten EVERY main title from RE0 to RE6, and the side games such as this, Revelations 2 ( which is actually deserving of it's good reputation but is consistently overlooked). I know the entire storyline from James Marcus discovering the progenitor virus, to Spencer having him assasinated, to Albert Wesker wanting to unleash Uroborous on the world, to Derek Simmons using the C virus outbreak to stop the President revealing the truth behind Raccoon City. This game just didn't hit the spot with me like it seems to have with everyone else. Best way i can describe it is budget Resident Evil. It's by no means a crap game, and as iv said the ship sections are great, it's just the most overrated game in the series that probably only got as much praise as it did because everybody was disappointed with RE6.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as gripping as RE4 and not as replayable as RE5, but another enjoyable RE, 15 May 2016
This review is from: Resident Evil 6 - PS4 (Video Game)
Title says it all, this game isn't as good as Resident Evil's 4 & 5, but it isn't by any means a bad game. Capcom have gone balls out here and thrown everything but the kitchen sink at the wall in an attempt to please all fans and mix the playstyles of past to present RE's. Leon Kennedy is here for the RE4 style campaign, Chris Redfield is here for the military, RE5 style campaign, Ada Wong is here for the stealth and puzzle campaign, and new character Jake Muller ( AKA Jake Wesker) is here for the pursuit, Nemesis style campaign. Let's get the bad outta the way first, not all of it sticks. Vehicle sections, QTE's, and a cheap health and death system will make you scream at the screen and seriously what were Capcom thinking with the health system? It was perfect in 5, in this it's just a complicated mess. Breaking herbs into pills and putting them in a tablet case is NOT ideal when you're about to get munched by a monster! However... Resident Evil 6 can be a lot of fun. Yes it betrays it's roots but if you accept it as it is RE6 can be a rewarding and fun game. Each campaign has awesome moments and Leon's in particular is very atmospheric. The game looks and performs great, the voice actors are great, the gameplay is fun, the melee system is fun, and bonus modes like the mercenaries are some of the most fun iv had in twenty years of gaming. Upon release back in 2012 this game was savaged by critics and fans alike, but 4 years later and after the dust has settled, i think we can all grow up and admit that while RE6 is a bit of a weak entry for a series as iconic as Resident Evil, it is still a quality videogame. If you're a fan, give it a try. It's cheap as chips now and at 60 frames per second on ps4, it's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what we've bought a Playstation 4 for, 12 May 2016

Unbeleivable. That's all i can say, im 2 hours into this game and already it's hit me with exhilaration, emotion and jaw dropping moments. The gameplay is everything you know from previous Uncharted games, just refined. Drake has a few new tricks up his sleeve such as a rope he carries at all times so you can swing whenever the situation calls for it. I really enjoy Drake's character in this game, he isn't as reckless, and he's older and wiser. He's still very physically adept, but his hair is silver and his skills scream experience. He's settled down since the events of the 3rd game, and has married Elena Fisher. However now and again we see glimpses of him longing for his past life. I can't really give many story details as im still very early on in the game. The game runs silky smooth and the graphics, sound and voice acting is incredible. Nolan North is on top form as the charming Nathan Drake and Troy Baker is great as his long lost brother Sam. The game is presented in classic Naughty Dog cinematic style, and is just as much fun to look at as it is to play. Awesome game so far, and slight spoiler here!!!!!!!

Seriously this is awesome

Nathan Drake plays crash bandicoot on a PS1!!!! Is there anything more beautiful?!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't aged all that well, 9 April 2016
I first saw this film in 2004 when i was 12 years old. At the time it was one of the best films id ever seen, but after watching recently again i wasn't as captivated. All the actors are great, Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhall and co all do a good job, and the effects are amazing for a film from 2004. I dont know what it was, i just didnt enjoy it as much. The CGI is very obvious, and Quaids mission to find his son through a devastated america was pretty boring. Literally nothing happened, he just walked through the snow for a while. I dunno, good film with great actors, but feels a little bland nowadays.

2.0 out of 5 stars Will Capcom ever learn?, 3 April 2016
Ok. We all know by now how incomplete this game is, but lets look at the positives first. The gameplay is fun and as tight as ever, classic street fighter. That's about it though. This is basially a glorified demo selling for full price. No arcade mode or anything. Capcom has promised more will come but it's not good enough. We don't ask to pay for the game in installments, so why should we receive the game that way? It's not even dlc that's coming, it's basic game modes!. Capcom, for the past few years you have been on the verge of bankcrupcy, you have alienated so many loyal fans with how you have treated your most beloved franchises, you have pulled so much shady stuff with dlc, you're currently relying on remasters to keep you afloat, and THIS is what you give us? You clearly havent learnt your lesson. Overall, a solid game with good gameplay, but lacking the most basic of fighting game features.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a spider man game... What do you expect?, 5 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ok, yes the story is pretty rushed, yes the combat is simple and yes the graphics are below average. But if you have found any enjoyment from any the spider man games of the of the past decade, you WILL have fun with this game. Everything that made the first amazing spider man game fun is here, and considering that the amazing spider man 1 was one of the better received movie based games AND spider man games of recent years, that isnt a bad thing. Comic book pages still litter the sky line ready to be snagged, civilians still call out to spidey, and random crimes still occur. Car chases, police shootouts, robberies, muggings, bombs, all must be dealt with. This is the one area of the game i dont like and its the hero menace system. It initially shows some promise, but quickly descends into a huge annoyance. See if spider man dosent remain a hero (by failing to do side missions) the city's authorities will constantly harass you. Oscorp drones will chase you, electrified nets will pop up and knock you from the sky and citiziens will hurl abuse at you. So you're forced to grind through these side missions or be harassed, which makes the initially fun side missions become quickly repetitive. Other than that though everything else is pretty good, the web swinging has been redone, webs now attach to buildings and the left trigger left hand right trigger right hand was a good idea. Spider man can also infiltrate oscorp hideouts to get new tech and costumes which involve taking down guys using stealth which is so much fun. The story, while rushed is about as much of a comic book story as you can get. There's a lot of fan service and easter eggs and the villain line up is strong. Shocker, Black cat, Kingpin, Kraven, Electro, Green Goblin, and Carnage all make an appearence and there's countless easter eggs hidden in the levels from Mysterios fishbowl, Rhinos mech suit and Doc Ocks arms. Stan lee even makes an appearance as the owner of a comic book store where all your unlockables are stored. It's a good game, ues its simple and dosent look the best, but theres enough fan service and swinging around the city to make this a fun time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two of the greatest survival horror games right here., 22 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Two amazing survival horror games for £23. Can't go wrong. Firstly, Resident Evil Zero. A prequel to the original game. You play as S.T.A.R.S officer Rebecca Chambers who has to team up with escaped convict Billy Coen to survive a twisted world full of danger. You begin on a claustrophobic train with the sound of rain pounding on the roof, it's awesomely atmospheric. Zombies, Dogs, Human sized leech monsters, giant bats, giant centipedes, killer monkeys, all must be dealt with. From the train you enter a mansion, a really creepy church, a lab, and a dam. All new areas bring new challenges and this game shows some really interesting backstory as to how umbrella was created, how the t virus was created and how the virus leak came about. Rebecca and Billy have their own strengths and weakness, for example Billy is the better fighter ( he can take tons of damage, handles weapons better) while Rebecca is weak in combat, but can mix herbs and use chemicals. Overall RE0 is a very solid title, with great atmosphere, creepy music and a foreboding feel to it. Now onto Resident Evil. This is a remake of an original 1996 classic, and boy is it worth it. Id say this title alone is worth buying this collection for. You play as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine. 2 S.T.A.R.S officers who along with their team become trapped in an abandoned mansion while trying to escape a pack of blood thirsty dogs. This game is set the night after RE0. You select who you wish to play as and like RE0, Chris and Jill have their own strengths and weaknesses. Chris is stronger, can take more damage and is better in combat, while Jill is weaker but can hold more items than chris, has a lockpick and has more help from Barry Burton the RE legend. The mansion is almost a character in itself, it's full of puzzles, death traps, and monsters. Zombies, dogs, crows, sharks, plants, giant snakes and giant spiders all await you. From the mansion you explore a residence, some extremley eerie underground caves and a lab. There's also a new enemy in this this game, i really don't want to spoil it because it is amazing. It was cut from the original game due to hardware restrictions. You'll know it when you see it. Once again this game just oozes atmosphere. Both games create an incredible atmosphere with intense lighting and detail. Sometimes the games use silence, which is just as terrifying. Like you'll walk in a room, silence, then you'll hear the creak of a floorboard, or you'll walk by a door for a zombie to suddenly burst through and lunge at you. There's really no way to describe how intense an atmosphere this creates, you just have to play it. They don't make em like this anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't trust SONY with my bank details, 6 Jan. 2016
I was a victim of the huge 2011 PSN hack and after that i thought sony would really get their crap together, but from 2011 to as recently as the begining of this week PSN has gone down countless times. It sometimes just does not load even on ps4,it dosen't feel like a lot of work has gone into it and it is just not stable and reliable enough when compared to XBOX LIVE. I wouldn't trust my bank details on something so unreliable to save my life. Id tell anybody that this is the safer option, please, take it from someone who found out the hard way, don't put your bank details on PSN and if they are up there, id recommend taking them off asap. These vouchers are so much safer, and you don't even have to wait for it to come in the mail, as your e mailed the code straight after you purchase. Lets hope sony eventually get their heads out of their backsides concerning PSN but until that day comes, these are the way to go. And this isn't just a PSN rant, i do the same for XBOX LIVE because even though that dosen't have as much of a reputation as PSN for going down or being hacked, a new hacking squad comes out every year so its just not worth it. Get your psn and xbox live codes from here, so much safer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A guilty little pleasure, 4 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is my guilty little pleasure, I love the lion king movies, and I remember playing this game as a kid. sure it's short, simple and easy, but it is meant for kids. Obviously this can't hold a candle to the ps4 games of today in terms of quality, but this is from the ancient ps1and it's a fun little game. It's colourful, vibrant and easy to control. It spans the first two lion king movies as we follow simba a from cub to lion and from the pride lands to the elephant graveyards to the jungles. You fight scar and Zira and pressing the circle button and unleashing a mighty roar never gets old lol. Overall, it's a kids game and it may partly be nostalgia talking, but I sometimes pop this in and find it just as fun as crash and spyro. Anyone with an interest in lion king or wants to find a game suitable to play with a young child, look no further.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why even bother making this?, 9 Nov. 2015
Ok, i went into this game totally ignorant. Im a busy man and hadnt read anything about the lack of campaign and online only. Which is my own fault, but in my defense, i honestly never would have thought a company would release a game in this state! This game features no storyline, and can only be played online. Now before all the blind cod fanboys give me this line "well who plays the campaign anyway!?" Well i do. And so do many others. My biggest gripe though, is the fact that this £40 for an online only game, so next year when xbox live is shut down for xbox 360, you cant play this. £40 for something you wont even be able to play in possibly less than a year from now. This is a prime example of everything wrong with the gaming industry, this game will become useless in possibly less than a year, so yes partly my fault for going in blind, but as i said this is something i never thought would be done. Well done activision, you've probably robbed thousands of parents and disappointed thousands of kids this christmas. Disgraceful, absoloutly disgraceful. If you dont bother with cod campaigns and are fine with online only, hey go for it you dont have to listen to me. But next year when the servers go down, your £40 disk is nothing more than a coaster.
