4.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, 29 April 2009
Gears of War 2 surpasses the original in every way, like the original Gears of War it has a good campaign, which is enjoyable to play through in single player, but it really comes into its own in co-op and online multiplayer, this is a great game to play with your mates, whether online or split-screen.

The online multiplayer aspects are pretty good, there are plenty of modes to mix it up in, including a new mode called Horde in which you and other players have to hold out against wave after wave of locust(bad guys), which is great fun.

The graphics are up there with the best to date on 360, the music is suitably epic and the characters are over-the-top and highly entertaining.

This game comes highly recommended, a must-buy for any xbox360 owner who likes a good epic action game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but not for everyone, 29 April 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed this game, this is quite a changed direction from the other Prince of Persia titles such as Sands of Time and Warrior Within, and it certainly divides opinion, and thus is clearly not for everyone, many gamers feel it is too repetitive and too easy, as you cant die in this Prince of Persia, which is a huge gameplay change from the other titles, in which death was very much a frequent and to some, frustrating aspect. This is predominantly a platform game, which in my case means, lots and lots of falling down.

However, I personally enjoyed the game a lot, the music is beautiful, the artistic look works wonderfully, healing the lands and seeing their bleakness turn into beauty is a real joy to behold, I also felt the voice acting was good, the prince himself being a bit clichéd, but I thought it worked perfectly well.

As I mentioned before, a major change in this Prince of Persia title was not being able to die, and this is the biggest gripe most people have with it, so if you consider yourself a "hardcore gamer", then this easy ride might not be for you, however if you are less concerned about the difficulty of a game, and enjoy something a bit more easy and straightforward, then you might just find a true gem here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb Movie, 29 April 2009
Kingdom of Heaven is another great movie from director Ridley Scott, It has an impressive cast who provide many fine performances, my only complaint would lie with Orlando Bloom who clearly was out of his depth amongst such an experienced and talented cast, I would say however that this is one of the better performances I have seen from him, but he still holds the movie back from being truly great, put simply, there are a large number of actors who come to mind who could have done a far better job.

The soundtrack for the movie is provided by Harry-Gregson Williams, and he does a damn good job here, I felt the score fit with the movie perfectly, and the main theme was memorable, without being too catchy.

The action scenes are excellent, and the cinematography is absolutely stunning, this is one of the best blu-ray titles I have seen so far, it truly makes you appreciate the new format.

I highly recommend Kingdom of Heaven, it is a top-quality film, with good replay value, and if you're looking for a film to show off blu-ray this is a pretty damn good one. My only caution with this title would be that it is very long, this is the director's cut, it is a big improvement over the theatrical version, however it is over 3 hours long, so just don't expect this to be quite as enthralling as Gladiator(also from director Ridley Scott).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, 29 April 2009
Body of Lies continues director Ridley Scott's consistency of making top-quality movies, I'm never disappointed with his work, and there was no change here.

The acting was good, DiCaprio, Crowe and all the surrounding cast performed well, I particularly enjoyed Mark Strong's performance as head of Jordanian intelligence Hani Salaam.

The plot moved along nicely, the film didn't feel too short or long, and I felt it had suitable pace to it, the cinematography was top-notch and the music, while not particularly memorable, supported the film well.

Overall, I would recommend Body of Lies quite highly, it's not a masterpiece, and dosen't do a whole lot new, but it dosen't do much wrong either, it's certainly worth a look.
