Yawn yawn, 4 Feb. 2014
I was surprised this book has got so many good reviews, because I just don't Get the appeal of the Jack Reacher character.
I have read three or four of them now, only the first one with any enthusiasm.
There is no character development, no statements about life, or America, no interior monologue, just this happened, that happened, this happened, yawn yawn yawn...
I found the twist in the plot towards the end so implausible it undermined the whole plot for me.
I grant that Lee Child knows how to structure the plot round building tension but I think the plot suffers from this as the story does not stack up.
