i felt the book stinted on detail and lacked the engineering element you might have expected. The ideas that were presented were often lacking in the detail that you would need in order to replicate them

Timeless Simplicity: Creative Living in a Consumer Society

5.0 out of 5 stars we love this book, 2 May 2013

This book is well resourced, deeply humane and well written. I hardly ever re-read a book but I did with this. John Lane accurately deals with many of the issues that afflict society and goes on to offer an antidote that, for us, resonated with so many of the things we believe but had failed to articulate.

1.0 out of 5 stars far too wordy, 20 Feb 2013

This book must have been published when the editors back was turned. It's crammed with tiny print and minute detail. Unless you want to know who was wearing what aftershave and what they had for breakfast, you will find an irresistible urge to skip to the next salient fact, but I couldn't find them. PAGAN CHRISTIANITY HB

5.0 out of 5 stars Christians need this, 2 Jun 2012

This review is from: PAGAN CHRISTIANITY HB (Hardcover)
I looked at all the reviews and there are some making the point that the book is one sided, which do have some validity. However, what isn't in doubt is the fact that the church has taken the life changing message of Christianity and made it boring, seemingly irrelevant, dogmatic, inhumane, institutional and weak. In my view our modern Christian practices demand a complete dismantling and this book starts that process. It gets my vote.
