5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun knitted projects to knit, 13 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
i liked the look of this book after reading about it in my issue of Mollie Makes this month so ordered it. My local social activity group always support the Movember charity events and this book caught my eye as it gives me lots of fun ideas to put forward for our fancy dress party this year. the pattern for the basic moustaches aren't complicated and i know that i'll be able to get some of the different ones knitted up in time for the fancy dress party. Plus if feeling adventurous, i may even tackle the knitted beard!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, 29 April 2013
This review is from: Ghana Must Go (Hardcover)
i was keen to read a copy of this book as has read a lot of press reviews and author interviews before publication. it was a slow start and i have to say that at times i was tempted to leave the book and not finish it. Bu am glad that i persevered as the story does pick up about a third of the way through the book and as all the characters started coming together in the book, made for a much more interested book to read.
So i would say if you have been reading the various press reviews/seen the author being interviewed and are intrigues by the reviews - give it a go. you will be pleasantly surprised.

Orchard Toys Rescue Squad
Orchard Toys Rescue Squad

5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun, 29 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Orchard Toys Rescue Squad (Toy)
i bought this as part of a birthday gift for my nephew who was turning 2 years old last month. His current obsession with fire engines meant that (for me) this was a very easy book to choose and knew that it would be fully appreciated by the recipient. i wasn't wrong - he loved it. and because it includes other important rescue squad characters means that when i play the puzzle with him, i can teach him the importance of what other rescue branches last the lifeboat and ambulance service do as well. i am a big fan of Orchard Toys and would throughly recommend these puzzles to any parent who is looking to furher develop their child's learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for anyone looking for non-cereal breakfast ideas, 29 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When the promotional email for this book popped into my inbox from Amazon as 'something that i might be interested in', i was doubtful about a book of breakfast recipes that might all involve lots of different muesli flavours but this is anything but. Simply - this is a fabulous book about breakfast. "Breakfast like a king", it says on the back of the book, when i received my copy. Lots of inspirational recipes whether you are cooking for one or for many - both indoors and outdoors - and if i didn't know from the cover of the book that it was by Dorset Cereals, the recipes inside (pea pancakes with smoked salmon & Creme fraiche is one of my favourites already!),only mention their famous muesli and porridge goodies a few times. it's simple and delicious and i love the way that they've dotted their simple pleasures throughout the book. if you're looking for new and exciting breakfast ideas, i fully recommend this book. i've already earmarked the pages that i'll be cooking from when we go camping in July.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beehive Divine!, 5 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
my pre-ordered copy of Stacie Bakes has arrived and i can't wait to start baking from it. I'd seen the book and met the author at her pop-up bakery at Fortnum & Mason last week and sampled some of the delicious recipes from the book - the chocasheek and rose cake just melted in my mouth. i went back and bought seconds! i then went home and googled Stacie to see what other foodie things she'd been involved in. I don't remember Stacie Stewart from her Masterchef stint but i did watch Food Glorious Food on ITV last week and liked how fun she was on telly. looking through this book i like how the recipes seem to be minimum fuss and has dishes that i would want to make and share with family and friends when they come over. thoroughly recommend and will be telling all my friends to go out and buy a copy so that they can make me some of the yummy treats from the book as well.

what an absolute brilliant book. I can't believe that it's taken me this long to finally read the book since it was first published. Gregory ROobert's personal story and view of India is in-depth and so detailed that i want to visit the country and see for myself. it's a fantastic piece of writing and the vivid journey that Roberts writes about is well worth the 900+ pages of reading.

Fifty Shades Darker: 2/3

2.0 out of 5 stars getting bored, 29 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
i was given the first book and decided to read book 2 to see if the story did get any better. It didn't. As appealing as the lead male character Christan Grey is in the books, Anastasia is not. Annoying, her monologue and thoughts are not in the least bit riveting. She very much reminds me of the Bella character from the Twilight Saga - dull. It's a shame, as the story could have had so much potential but just failed. so much repetition throughout that even i found i was flicking through the sex bits - over-hyped.
