A really good package. Excellent DVD and a well put together magazine to read. As a fan who can remember purchasing their classis debut album which came out in 1974 the package added to the Bad Company story. If I was being ultra critical I thought they could have made more of the 2010 UK comeback Tour of which I saw. Hardly a mention which was surprising as they hadmt toured the UK for some 35 years.
The Amazon price of £11.79 against the Tesco price of £14.99 was also a plus point.

Rods 2013 Album "Time" has just reached Number 1 in the U.K. Album Charts. However this was Rods second solo album and it is somewhat overlooked as "Every Picture Tells a Story" and "Never a Dull Moment" two albums of the highest order followed it. I knew several of the tracks "Gasoline Alley" and "Its All Over Now" (The Rolling Stones Number 1 Hit) Rods Version is excellent. There are some other great tracks "Only a Hobo" a Dylan song and "Country Comforts" written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Elton doesnt write songs like this anymore. There are also tracks "My Way of Giving" and "Youre My Way of Giving" (I dont want to discuss It) which wouldnt have been out of place on any of The Faces Albums.
So if i had a choice of purchasing his new album or this gem which came out in 1970 some 43 years earlier then it would be "Gasoline Alley" every time.

i had been after a Jimi Hendrix Best of Album for some time and had considered many British Compilations but many did not have all the big hits. Then i saw this German Import which came out in 2012. this has all the big ones "Hey Joe", "All Along the Watchtower" and "Purple Haze". There are also some not so well known gems like "Remember".
After listening to this in the car many times you forget what a great artist Jimi was. One drawback is the sleevenotes there appears to a lot of them but i cant speak German!!!

I had this album on Cassette when it was originally released in 1978. A classic album. I had the C.D. version when it came out in 1994. I did not purchase the 2009 First Remastered version. However like the very successful 2010 Remastered "Exile on Main Street" with its extra tracks. This reissue caught my interest. With another 12 tracks on a Second C.D. This was a must have.
The first C.D. speaks for itself every track a classic the Stones at their best. All aspects covered Rock n Roll, Country and even Disco with "Miss You".
The second C.D. is also excellent "Do You Think I Really Care", "No Spare Parts" and "Love You Too Much" being particular favourites.
This along with Exile are great Remasterings by The Stones. Why didnt they do this first time round. Now a Remastering of "Tattoo You" together with extra tracks would be a thought!!!

This is a much underated album. It doesnt get the critical aclaim of the previous Every Picture Tells a Story and Never a Dull Moment but to my mind its up there with both. It includes Farewell an excellent single but often forgotten. This single isnt on The Story So Far The Best of Rod Stewart or Changing Faces The Best of Rod Stewart and the Faces but it definateley should be. Also here is Let me be your Car a great duet with Elton John when he had a rock n roll voice.
Another Faces influenced track Sailor is also on this album which stands the test of time.

The follow up to the classic Every Picture Tells a Story and it doesnt dissapoint. The number one single You Wear it Well a classic is here. Faces influenced tracks True Blue and Italian Girls are excellent. Mama you been on my Mind a Bob Dylan song shows off Rods vocals at their best. Other excellent covers Angel, Id Rather Go Blind, and Teistin the Night are included here.

The album that launched Rod Stewart on the International Scene. This album as well as the Double A Sided single Maggie May/Reason to Believe was Number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic simultaneously. a truly great album that is now incredibly nearly 40 years ago. Every track a classic. Rods vocals are at their best and Ronnie Woods guitaring also stands out.

I had this album on cassette and i also had the first remastered version on C.D. when it came out. When the Rolling Stones web sites and newspapers reported that they had found some extra material then it got my interest. I dont usually purchase remastered albums unless they have something to offer and this does have a lot to offer.
Even in its original form this is the Rolling Stones at their very best. All aspects of music are covered here great rock, gospel, country and even a touch of soul. From the first track "Rocks Off" with its great opening riff to the last track "Soul Survivor" every track is brilliant. Jaggers voice is shown off at its very best. The guitars of Richards and Taylor knit together brilliantly. All this is backed up by the engine room of Wyman and Watts. Also there is the brilliant piano sound of Nicky Hopkins a brilliant rock pianist who passed away too soon. Bobby Keys adds his special sound on the sax.
Its hard to believe that "Tumbling Dice" a track played at every Stones show since 1972 was the only Top 10 track to be lifted off this album. One of my favourite tracks is the underated "Let it Loose"
On to the extra tracks "Plundered my Soul" gained a lot of air play but "Following the River" is my personal favourite. Hard to believe these tracks were left off the original double album.
However if im being very critical then the new booklet is a let down. However i wonder why when the Stones remastered the rest of their back catalogue they didnt do a proper job like they have done with "Exile".
Probably one of the Top 10 Albums in Rock History. It gained the No1 slot 38 years after its original release and deservedly so. I recommend you get yourself a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Jam Snap SE (2CD), 22 Mar 2010
This review is from: Snap SE [2CD] (Audio CD)
I bought this on cassette when it first came out. As a Jam fan the 2 CD is the best collection of Jam Material available.Paul Weller went on to have success with The Style Council and as a solo artist. However in my opinion The Jam was Weller at his best. All the 21 singles are here from "In the City" to "Beat Surrender". As well as the singles there are some really great "B" sides. How they never made it as singles heaven knows. Particular favourites of mine include, "Away from the Numbers" "Billy Hunt" and "Thick as Thieves"
Not a duff track on this C.D. If you want the definitive collection of the Jams work then go with this 2 C.D. Set. You will not be disappointed.
