I bought the Kindle Kindle, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display
as a Christmas gift so am not in a position to review the product as such. However, having purchased the additional power adapter for an extra £13 (taking the total to over £100), I am dismayed to learn that the Kindle can be charged directly from the computer via the USB cable - thus making the charger superfluous. Amazon don't make this clear in the advert and I'm sure many people will make the same mistake as myself. No doubt the basic Kindle is good value for money but the charger seems very expensive for what it is - i.e. the size of a 13Amp plug but with a USB socket where the cable would emerge. It seems even more of a rip-off considering it is not really necessary!
