5.0 out of 5 stars NKOTB - Back where they should be!, 8 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 10 (MP3 Download)
First of all, I've been waiting with baited breath for the new Album! NKOTB have been riding the crest of the wave for 4 years off the back of their fabulous come back Album 'The Block' and I don't see why '10' should be any different!
'Remix' (I like the) is more 'pop' than I would normally expect from the guys but a VERY catchy tune none-the-less! :-D
The Album tracks are much varied from deeply soulful (with the help of Jordan's crooning and Joe's crisp notes), to funkiness that only Donnie and Danny can give! As for Jon... Well, Jon is Jon! - and a great harmoniser! :-)
The New Kids On The Block have proven, now that they're all grown up, they've got the togetherness, stamina and experience to give the fans everything they could expect and more from these five bad brothers from the Beantown land!

5.0 out of 5 stars A modern kind of 'Scrooged'!, 23 Mar 2013

I liked this film years ago the first time I saw it.
It's poignant and easy to see how Steve Martin's character became a recluse and the talk of the town...
He is clearly depressed, unable and unwilling to communicate with the outside world, and only interested in his gold coin collection. One night he is burgled and he realises he has nothing and nobody in his life. A toddler walks into his home one night, after the Mother dies from hypothermia in the snow, and his life is there and then changed forever...
There are twists and turns, particularly at the end, and yet somehow the story unfolds steadily and makes for easy watching.
Gabriel Byrne plays his character well... As a Politician-in-the-making, he wanted no stain on his good name and therefore refused to formally acknowledge his child (the toddler) but when his new wife is unable to carry a child of her own, he becomes drawn to his estranged daughter, using his wealth and power to entice her into his paternal fold and away from Steve Martin...
An emotional battle ensues for custody of the child, skeletons are pulled out of everyone's closets and the case draws much confusion and debate within the sleepy town...
Depends on which way you look at this story but essentially it has a happy ending...

5.0 out of 5 stars Jane Eyre was written for Timothy Dalton!, 23 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have to say I bought this because I just knew Timothy Dalton would make for fabulous viewing!
Jane Eyre is one of my most favourite of the Bronte stories and of all the adaptations I've seen, this is surely one of the best.
Dalton plays the part would almost say too naturally! He makes his character so believable, so twisted, confused and yet with whispers of vulnerability that you can't help but warm to him, feel pity for him.
Jane is a clever portrayal also, meek and yet with such inner strength... There's such a gentleness about her.
It's nice to see the language in the script has remained true to the era and has not been modernised, as with many more recent period films... All in all this is by far one of my best buys!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Amazing illustrations!, 23 Mar 2013

You don't have to be a Twihard fan to appreciate this book. So many interesting facts, great behind-the-scenes insights and really interesting nuggets of information from the Director and those who worked on this film/saga, make enjoyable reading.
The pictures/photos and CGI illustrations are just fantastic. Whichever team you're on (Edward or Jacob) you can't help but be impressed with this book!
As you read through it's easy to relive some special moments from the film and also gives an alternative perspective which has you wanting to watch the film again to catch what you may have missed!
I gave a 5* rating and no doubt I'll be doing the same when I buy the Breaking Dawn Part 2 edition!

5.0 out of 5 stars To Dye For!!, 14 Feb 2012
Brilliant stuff! Every Spring and just before Winter, I freshen up my Sofas with Dylon Fabric Dye and it works a treat! It's easy to use, mess free and my sofas look brand new again by the end of the day.
It's fast, inexpensive and does the job it's supposed to.
It saves hundreds of pounds on Dry Cleaning bills and also saves embarrassment when someone pops round and the Dry Cleaners haven't finished with your covers yet!
Thank you Dylon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent Magnets!, 14 Feb 2012
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Great! My son loves all things scientific, since a very young age and this is a great way to learn about Magnets. Very durable pieces, very strong magnets, perfect for curious little minds. It's great for visualizing shapes in 3D and then learning to build them. We are going to build upon the set, as my son becomes more confident. The only downside is that 35 pieces sounded like quite a lot but actually we are going to buy another set to add to it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Nightmare!, 14 Feb 2012
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
My son is obsessed with fans/turbines! I thought this construction kit would keep him busy for a few hours, during half term! The kit is not specific enough for an adult let alone a child.
It does not have written instructions. It has a map of cut out pieces, all numbered but not stating exactly where nor in which direction they should go. It has a not-so-helpful note encouraging you to use the photo of the finished product as a guide. This is unhelpful particularly when you reach the top of the turbine and have to construct what is within the motor-casing. We had to take the body apart once we got to the top to get it to fit.
It's such a shame. The finished product is a really good size and quite impressive...but we did have a couple of bits spare - Just couldn't figure it out!
