5.0 out of 5 stars Great security light., 11 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great security light. It was easy to wire up, the instructions were easy to follow and it was easy to put on the wall. It's not mega bright, but that's what I wanted, I didn't want a light that was so bright it annoyed the neighbours. I use it near my side door to light it up when you get home and it performs perfectly so far.

And the bonus is that it is only 8W! It will not be costly to run at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really effortless ironing, but cables are a bit awkward to store away., 1 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The amount of steam that the iron produces makes ironing effortless, it really is very effective. The iron has a nice coating as well so it glides over clothing really easily. It is very comfortable to use over long periods as well.

Compared to my old steam generator iron that this replaces it is so much lighter, I was a bit sceptical whether it would perform as well, but it actually performs better and is lighter, I was happy with that.

The only downside for me is that the cable and the iron 'hose' can't really be stored any where, there is no automatic mechanism to retract the mains lead, you have to stuff it into a space in the base unit. It's all a bit fiddly and poorly designed.

However, it is a great iron that performs really well and I forgive the cable issues because of this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toothbrush, very effective., 1 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Compared to some of the more expensive Braun toothbrushes, this one offers some great features for a lot less money and is very effective too. It has 3 different modes but I just use it on the normal mode where it flashes red if you brush too hard, this is a great feature. It also tells you when you have brushed for the recommended 2 minutes.

Best of all though, it really cleans your teeth well, and that is certainly what a good toothbrush needs to do!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice budget SLR, ideal for beginners, but has some annoying features., 1 Aug. 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've been using this for a while now and it does take some nice shots and videos. Auto-focus is quick and accurate even in low light and exposure is pretty accurate. It is comfortable in the hand and being made of plastic it is light too so you don't quickly get tired when using it for long periods.

It produces nice neutral photo's which are not too over-processed so the digic 4 processor seems to work well with the sensor.

There are lots of scene settings which may be of use to beginners, but you can use it fully manually too.

So, it takes nice photo's and video, but why only 3 stars? Well, for me there are a few omissions which are a bit annoying. In video mode, there is no auto-focus, it's just manual focus which is a bit poor and there's no input for an external mic. I suppose they have to cut costs somewhere. Just bear this in mind if you're considering this camera for a lot of video work.

Also, some of the menus are just frustrating. E.g. hit the ISO button and 8 options appear from Auto up to 6400 which is all pretty normal, however you can't scroll up and down to navigate options quickly (which you need to be able to do with an SLR), you can only scroll left and right through all of the 8 options. I really can't understand why Canon makes the menus like this, it just frustrates the heck out of me and really spoils the experience. It's the same on all screens when you have options spread over 2 lines.

Finally, the viewfinder. As normal it has a focus ring to get the viewfinder focused to suit your eyes. The focus is spot on in the centre, but viewing the LCD options at the bottom, the bottom right text is out of focus - this is very poor.

So, mixed feelings really. It takes nice photos and video, but for me, there are too many annoying things which really spoil my experience of using the camera. I suppose in the end, you're better off spending a bit more for a better user experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice quality lens for a very reasonable price., 22 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was really surprised by the quality of the lens, both optically and build quality. Build quality first, it is top notch. Focus ring is lovely and smooth but a bit on the stiff side, but I suppose it will loosen with use. It has a lovely metal construction which makes the lens feel like a quality lens should do. However, It's not too heavy though as it is a lot smaller that I though it was going to be.

Image quality is great, i'm really pleased with the results. It is great to have a lens like this in your kit back to give the opportunity to take some really creative shots. As it states, the lens is pretty sharp across the whole field of view. Love the fact that it is fully manual too.

All in all, i'm really pleased with this lens. It may not be a really well know Japanese brand, but in my opinion, this Korean company know how to make a quality lens. I'm impressed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic basic bike GPS., 22 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If all you need is a simple GPS so you can view your speed and distance and upload your ride when you get home, you really can't go wrong with the edge 200. It works just as quickly and accurately as the other Edge units and looks great in simple black and white which will go with most bikes (unlike the blue 500 for example!)

Just bear in mind that you can't add a cadence sensor or heart rate monitor, so if you're thinking you may want to use these in the future, you're better off going for the 500 model or above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone for the money!, 22 July 2014

You get quite a lot for your money with this phone. Call quality is very good and the screen is nice and clear. It has a socket for a headset which is what I needed for long conference calls, it works perfectly. If all you need is a simple phone, why would you spend more?

4.0 out of 5 stars Really capable compact which is very handy to have around., 22 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've been using the camera for a while now and I really quite like it. Yes, it's certainly not a replacement for my SLR, but it is very capable of taking some nice shots if you just want to venture out with a pocketable camera.

Pro's:
OIS lens does a really good job even at full zoom it is remarkably steady.
Manual controls.
Viewfinder - great for when it is very bight and difficult to see the LCD screen properly.
Produces some very life like shots and vivid 1080p videos.
GPS and WiFi are a bonus.
It is nicely constructed out of quality materials and feels good when in use.

Cons:
Menu's are not the best if you're used to using an SLR.
GPS does tend to drain the battery pretty quickly.
The lens is not the fastest which limits the camera when using in low light situations, would have been nice to see f2.8.
You can only charge the battery in the camera, there is no external charging dock.

Overall though, it really does have a lot of features for the money and the zoom lens is perfectly usable all the way up to 30x where it remains pretty steady. Best of all though is that it does take some nice shots, the quality of the pictures is very good for such a small camera. There's not many 30x zoom compact cameras that are better than this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of features, but for me it all gets a bit tedious, 17 July 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a really nicely designed activity monitor with some great features. And I've enjoyed using it for the past few weeks.

Pro's:
It's very light, you hardly notice wearing it.
You can wear on your wrist, belt clip or just in your pocket.
It can measure heart rate and also blood oxygen level.
The touch screen is lovely and looks very cool.
Synchronisation with iPhone etc is easy and works.
It measures steps, distance, elevation, sleep (deep and light) and heart functions.

Cons:
The screen is very difficult to see in bight sunlight which can be very annoying.
It is not waterproof.
The screen is awkward to read when wearing it on your wrist.
For me, after a few weeks, I am left feeling 'I know all this now' as most of my data was similar each day.

All in all, a very attractive and nicely designed activity monitor. However, not being waterproof means you have to take it off quite a lot and it is virtually unreadable in bright sunlight. It does all get a bit predictable after a few weeks.
