Initial impressions: good quality at an amazing price. The laces could be a little longer, otherwise I am very happy. So far I have only worn them around the house, but they seem to be comfortable and well made / robust.

5.0 out of 5 stars You only live once...., 29 Dec. 2014

Another great read, the book gets better & better as the trip goes on (and is modified on the move). Packed with the good (and not so good) flavours of life on the road, it has already prompted me to follow in the authors footsteps to a degree. Overall a very realistic and stimulating account - Turkey & Georgia are now high on my list of places to travel to.
Even if you are not into overland travel, this is a well-written and at times amusing account of living your life the way you want to, not the way you feel society expects you to. Liberating reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bigger than previous tops in same size, 29 Dec. 2014

I already have 2 (older, but not much) hoodies from J&J. This one is of thinner material overall (not as warm) but considerably longer in the body & arms. Chest size is spot on though. I love the design, but it does not hang nearly as well as my old ones. Already consigned to "gardening duties". Shame.

Quick delivery. My wife loves her new socks, but overall the material is a bit thinner than expected. Nevertheless, very pleased overall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, 3 Dec. 2014

Pros: Phone held securely, magnetic cover works well and phone kept protected, whilst access to camera and buttons unrestricted

Neutrals: Not the best looking cover out there, nor is it the worst.

Cons: Due to the curvature of the back of the phone, the whole "package" seems a little thick. (This has more to do with the design of the phone than the case!)

Overall: Definite value for money

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but..., 19 Feb. 2014

Written in a similar style to Lee Child, with a similar pace, but just not as captivating. Jack Reacher is such a strong character in Lee Child's books, that constant referencing to him leaves the main characters in this book falling a bit short of the mark.

This is not a bad book, but highlights just how good Lee Child's original Reacher series is....

4.0 out of 5 stars A bargain at the price, 29 Dec. 2012

This little remote seemed too cheap to be true. At the price, I was expecting the quality to be poor (which it isn't!). Delivery was quick. Initially the remote did not seem to work; further inspection revealed that the battery had been inserted back to front at the factory. Once this little issue had been rectified, the unit works exactly as it should. I bought this remote for use on my Nikon D40 mounted on a tripod, taking pictures of the northern lights in Norway. It worked faultlessly at temperatures down to -10C. Highly recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly different, common sense triumphs over technology, 23 May 2012

Question: How much use is a map you cannot read?

Answer: Very! As the author will reveal....

Having dreamt of doing a trip like this, this book has been both a revelation and an inspiration. One man, heading off alone to ride to Mongolia on a very second hand motorbike, no "back up", significant language barriers, no GPS but a series of maps (one of which he cannot even read!) and a lot of determination and common sense. This tale depicts both the journey itself, and at the same time is an honest and introspective account about such an embarkation. The author is clearly passionate about two wheels and about experiencing new cultures and meeting new people.
This book is brutally honest about both the highs and lows of this epic adventure, both relating to the welfare of the bike, but more endearingly, the emotional responses along the way. As the pages turn one gets a sense of the individuality of the author, a character I feel I can easily relate to.
If you are at all interested in travel and adventure, I highly recommend this book. It is refreshingly different, with many a spark of humour thrown in for good measure.
And the total cost, including bike, was less than the price of a fully kitted 7 year old BMW R1200GS! Amazing
