Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces that Shape Our Decisions
Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces that Shape Our Decisions
by Dan Ariely
Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.29

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but light, 26 April 2013

I found this to be a valuable first resource into what is a theme lurking beneath the surface of our lives - decisions. What was for me its key qualities - brevity and simplicity, may on second reading appear rather as lack of depth, and perhaps they may be, to some extent.

Nontheless I heartily reccomend acquiring it

Respiratory Physiology: The Essentials
Respiratory Physiology: The Essentials
by John B. West
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 22 Mar 2013

As always an excellent read. In the highly physiological field that is Respiratory Medicine I find that this volume and its companion, Pulmonary Pathophysiology, provide a first taste into the field that can hardly be improved upon.

Information that might be expanded upon (after all, such a small volume could never pretend to be comprehensive) is readily identifiable and so might be readily complemented by further reading.

Maintains within LWW's wonderful tradition of small succinct books intended for easy learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, 22 Mar 2013

An excellent companion to Pulmonary Physiology. Presents essencial information throughout each chapter and has review questions that are very useful. I found that the information which could be expanded upon to be easily identifiable and so found it easy to seek further information elsewhere (impeccable suggestions for further reading as well).

In all a truly useful book that provides the groundwork for the field as a whole.
