This is an intriguing novel gaining excitement as the suspicions for Jenny's death continue to point in the direction of Lizzy's secret love Mike who happens to be the wife of her best friend Cora.
The story is cleverly interspersed with previous exploits of the four friends including Lizzy's rather tense confrontation with Stevie ,who is also a member of the quartet, on Cora and Mike's wedding night.
There is also Lizzy's visit to Jenny's grandparents in preparation of her newspaper's tribute to Jenny - again the writer excels with her vivid descriptions in this case the contents of their humble home and " the old -fashioned nanny and grampy " trying to maintain their dignity unaware of Lizzy being one of the last persons to see Jenny alive.
It was ironic that the Curryman, the blackmailer, met his demise by downing the bottle of vodka and sleeping pills subsequent to Lizzy disposing of these in a bin at the end of Cora's street after abandoning her plan to kill her best friend.Twists and turns aplenty.
The novel is littered with tangents that provide further insight into the four friends and other intrinsic characters and events which contribute to a well written thriller.
