If you're a fan of Michael Sarne's JOANNA, you'll be over the moon with this gorgeous BluRay transfer. The film is so dated it's painful at times to watch, but at other times it transcends the dreadful 60's backdrop it strives to capture. Overall, this is worth collecting, and if you're a fan like me, it's great to be taken on a trip through swinging London of the 60s. It's almost like being there, except I wasn't. That's why I'll cherish Joanna for years to come.

A disappointing BluRay transfer of one of the best films in recent memory. Before this is released in the United States, someone in the Universal QC division might well be advised to revisit this transfer, along with Hitchcock's Marnie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hitchcock in BluRay, mostly awesome, however the bad transfer of Marnie is unforgivable!, 8 Mar 2013

Universal should be ashamed for the sloppy job of the MARNIE transfer in BluRay. The rest in this series are excellent to very good, however the dismissal of Marnie being up to par with the rest of them brings the rating down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning transfer!, 8 Mar 2013

CLEOPATRA as you've never seen it before, unless you were around for the initial TODD-AO release. Breathtaking transfer only adds to the experience of seeing this wonderful extravaganza in all its glory. Elizabeth Taylor has never looked so relaxed and so in command of her craft, and Rex Harrison is Oscar worthy as Ceasar. Richard Burton is as good as the role allows him to be, which is shaky at best. Despite all the hoopla surrounding the Taylor-Burton affair, there's more sparks between Harrison and Taylor. But the film is a marvel of sheer spectacle, and if you like your movies to look good, look no further.
