5.0 out of 5 stars He's Done It Again!, 23 April 2006
Richard E. Grant has done it again. Written a witty and chaotic account of the behind the scenes of movie making. As a follow up of first book WithNails, The Wah-Wah Diaries tells of the "hurry up and wait" side of film making. From conception of the idea, through the creative writing, the getting the fiancing, and finding the right people, the shooting, the post-production, and finally the opening, Wah-Wah Diaries tells of the side few outside the industry even know about. With style, flair, and humor, the author takes down the long road and almost makes the rest of us wonder "how does it ever gets done in the first place?" The film itself, which has lead to the book, almost seven years in the making is a real labor of love which his fan club is well aware.

If you enjoyed With Nails, you also enjoy The Wah-Wah Diaries. If you didn't read the first, read them both and see the story behind film.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Much and Too Little, 22 May 2002
This review is from: To Be or Not to Be (Audio CD)
After a lot of searching I finally found a copy of this CD. Being a great fan of Richard E. Grant and his voice, I must admit I was somewhat disappointed in the actual product. While I did enjoy it, the music provided by Orpeheus was a bit too loud. It made it difficult to hear the words clearly. In addition there was too much music and not enough of REG. I was expecting a little more words and less and quieter music. However,if you are a serious fan of Richard E. Grant, I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthralling Tale, 31 Oct. 2000
This audio version of Eric Newby's tale of his experiences during WW II after the invasion of Italy is enthralling. Richard E. Grant is the perfect choice to read Newby's story. He reads the book with great passion and a fondness of a wonderful tale of survival and love. The vividness of his voice, the loving descriptions of the countryside and the people Newby came to know, the voices used for the people and the tale itself had me listening to the whole three hour book in one sitting. Well worth a evening curled up in a comfortable chair relaxing. Will undoubtling listen to again and again.
