1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly assembled, 17 Aug. 2013
This is a really badly put together collection with re-recordings far too prevelant - and mono Cliff / Elvis tracks when I'm sure they could have used the available stereo ones. BIG rip-off that's relying on previous good sales to fleece buyers for rubbish. The Bobby Rydell song forget him is a joke - where on earth did they get this slowed version from ??

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic Memories, 31 Dec. 2008
Saw the Hit The Road Stax Revue many many years ago in London. Myself and a mate saw the show 4 times @ different venues including a place called The Hot Potato - somewhere in the east end of London I think - actually managed to get a LP signed by most of the stars - still have it of course. Those were the days - all 1st class acts even at that early stage in their careers. Booker T was and remains a hero of mine.
This DVD release brings back great memories after 40 years.

Great collection... but if like me you will already have everything they ever issued.. I am 60yrs old now but one of the greatest moments of my life was meeting these guys before a show at a place called ' The Hot Potato' a club or dance hall in East London - must have been around 1965-67. A mate and myself travelled up from Southampton and saw them a total of 3 times - slept pretty rough on Waterloo Station benches and ate in ' Golden Egg' restaurants ........oh what happy days !!
