A bit of a homemade attempt but fairly interesting nonetheless. The only hilarious blooper is the commentator's mix up of Castleton in north Manchester with Castleton in the Peak District, the two are 35 miles apart and the one he talks about doesn't even have a station.

1.0 out of 5 stars Appallingly Weak Storyline, 7 Jan. 2015
The original 'Lady Vanishes' directed by Alfred Hitchcock, dated from 1938 during the golden age of cinema is a classic suspense thriller of its kind, with great excitement and a tense cliff hanger finish. It set 'Hitch' on his path to greatness with later classics when he de-camped to Hollywood such as 'North By Northwest'. Initially this re-make looks and feels good. The period details are all there in abundance; as is a reasonable level of atmosphere. But oh the storyline. Why oh why take a perfectly good story about spies and ruin it? By removing the spy element the point of the kidnapping is, well there isn't any point. None whatsoever. And why do we have to have stand-offs between leading female characters (a la soaps) in EVERYTHING these days. Sorry beeb but even real life ain't this trashy. You took a classic and trashed it on the altar of 'bringing it up to date'. Shame on you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Work of Genius, 17 April 2014
This review is from: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Recorded in 1975 in a little studio in Stockport before 10cc even had a major label deal, this album is actually one of the defining musical moments of the seventies. The album plays like a film soundtrack - the opening title 'Un nuit a paris' supposedly provided the inspiration for Freddie Mercury to compose Bohemian Rhapsody later in the year (it is a three part operatic story). The highlights are also the famous UK No 1 single 'I'm Not In Love' and the top ten hit 'Life Is A Minestrone'.
Having owned the original LP 'Soundtrack' and CD version I can confidently say that this stereo SACD-only disc is the closest thing you are ever going to get to the master tape. The detail and refinement is superb, so much so that all the tracks have an added power and poise and all the elements are there but superbly balanced, proving beyond all doubt that sonically as well as musically, this album is a work of genius.

The title track and mixes are the reason to buy this album, although the other tracks are worthy in their own way. The vibe is slightly melancholic but very atmospheric, it's a pity we didn't hear a lot more from Sheryl

I got to this track from you tube (where else?) but I wanted my own copy....It as an infectious melodic dance number that really grows.. although I'm not sure whether the artists name is correct here, as I've seem him referred to as Don Cartel elsewhere, not Don Carel

5.0 out of 5 stars The cure for swollen sore gums, 6 Feb. 2014

I used this product as a treatment for gingivitis after a painful extraction. It is FAR better than corsodyl as it also reduces inflammation. It is a tincture supposedly for dilution but I actually used it neat as the pain was so bad. With one drop I got instant relief with no ill effects although the taste is a bit weird.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Bargain at new Low amazon price, 6 Feb. 2014

The Balance Armature Drive Unit originally introduced by Shure in high end models is not a panacea.
It has a very immediate, fast and precise sound that brings music to life. But it needs a perfect seal from the outside world as the ear canal acts as the resonant tube for the bass. If the fit isn't right there is no bass whatsoever, and due to the small size of the driver even then, the bass isn't that much.
However the same failings are true of the Shure SE530 which costs a few hundred pounds, yet these are on offer here at a measly £21. So despite their obvious flaws they are the bargain of the century, giving a taste of that high end immediacy and 'involvement' so craved by the Linn/Naim 'flat earthers' way back in hifi's prehistoric era (ie the 1980s).
Yes the sound is hard and tinny at first but they mellow as they run in, and that lack of bass 'slam' can be cured by tweaking the EQ controls on your ipod or whatever. So at this price what's not to like?
