Trespass Packa Jacket
Trespass Packa Jacket
Price: £11.99 - £28.05

3.0 out of 5 stars Quality and style ok...BUT!!....., 17 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Trespass Packa Jacket (Apparel)
I ordered this yesterday and recieved it today, and wow!!! the colour description is outright WRONG!!! This jacket is so completely NOT blue, by any description! It is a complete and unadulterated GREEN! and as another review said...its a grandmother colour....60's pale green is what i'd call it.
The fit is ofcourse huge (i am a size 10 and the small was swimming on me still)...but it is long, giving a slightly (slightly) flattering look. The quality is fine and seems it is truely waterproof...that's what the label says..."waterproof and breathable" - whether it actually IS not something i can comment on so much as it is already going back...was unpacked for about 5mins before being repacked with a return label!!!
Would not recommend. Watch out for the colour. And i would say two sizes down from what you normally are.!

2.0 out of 5 stars A big let down after the 'letters' DVD!, 25 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My daughter and i both loved the first one....about letters and sounds....It was great...and worked for my daughter! ...but what i don't get is how different this one is!...The books are fine, but the DVD is SHOCKING!!...it has i think a total of 5? sounded out words! and the rest is more 'letters and osounds' things....and its also very poorly edited from the full show (?)....shows a video about the letter p, then goes to x and then just straight on to another letter....ie not showing a video about x....
And they show pages straight from the book!...not even showing the words they are reading....like karaoke style or anything.
So this is nothing other than expensive glorified books - we have plenty of cheap/2nd hand books with 2-3 words on the page that i can sit and read with my daughter...without spending so much money!

BIG dissappointment! Am going to look into the full set of Jolly Phonics or something!....or keep looking for reading books/aids.

I DON'T recommend this.

2.0 out of 5 stars should read 'sample DVD'!!!!, 25 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this after having bought an Fun with Phonics DVD and book, by the BBC for my currently bi-lingual daughter (aiming for quad-lingual, so need all help i can get!)....it was really good...
This is nothing like that....what they fail to say is that the DVD is only a 'sample' DVD....its very short, has a few brief stories/sections! This would be fine if i was fluent in French, and focus on teaching from the book, but i am not...AND french is incredibly 'unphonetic'!!!!
And the other thing i am mystfied about is why oh why is there that cat-strangling indian music playing in the background!!?? am i trying to learn/teach hindi???? Why couldn't they have an accordian playing in the background or something! AND...i just can't place that child's accent....sometime's he sounds indian, sometimes American??? How's that useful for an English 'audience'.

The book seems ok which is where most of those stars come from... but a bit pricy for the money paid though.

I can see this item filled a gap in the market...so well done the creators of it, but i bought the BBC one for much cheaper with a full DVD on it! So come on...get a grip guys!!! Will NOT be recommending this to others!.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heroes, not historians...., 9 Nov. 2011
I was given this book, by 'Babe' himself, as i know him and Bill personally. (I traveled on the BOB tour that went across much of Europe, retracing the path of the 101st. And also spent a week with Babe in Philadelphia, and visited Bill...in fact...Bill DROVE us back to the centre of town!!!!! 86yrs old with 1 leg!!!!! lol)
They seem to get a lot of flack for their 'opinions' about the British Army in WW2. But i dare say one almost has to know these men, to get them and what they say in the book.
Ultimately these men are soldiers....heroes ...and not historians. I live in Britain (though i am not British, but Commonwealth) and even i was offended by some things....but just realised i had to take these men and some of their opinions for what they are: opinions!...as i have mine, about other (and even my own) cultures..and enjoy the amazing relationship and banter, that this book is really about.
Generally, I loved how in one page, this book could make me laugh AND cry. These guys went through hell....It was hard watching Babe sob his eyes out all these decades later at that same Bastogne forest where he lost one of his best friends and where Bill was injured...telling us 'young' people to wake up and realise what it cost...'freedom is not free'. So they have earned the right to p*** and moan about their time and the war...in my opinion.
So hopefully with that in mind, if people choose to buy/read this book, then you will enjoy it more if you put certain things aside!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but dangerous?, 29 Mar. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I find this product really does work, but that, along with the smell, slightly worries me! What is it doing to my skin, long term? As someone else says, it smells like nail polish remover, and putting something that smells so corrosive on my skin, has the potential to ruin my skin, i could suppose. And to be honest, when we went on holiday last year i put this product in a travel size bottle, and by the time we arrived at our destination this product had slightly melted? this plastic bottle to the point that the lid had come off and the product was all over my other toiletries!
But in saying that....
I have been using it regularly for about a year, and my skin seems ok, (im 32 with combination skin which is not especially sensitive or anything)...so i do recommend this product if you want something that works, but that recommendation would come with a warning about the unknown long term effect on one's skin.

Thinking Room
Thinking Room

5.0 out of 5 stars Aotearoa Brilliance, 5 Jun. 2006
This review is from: Thinking Room (Audio CD)
This album is one i have had for years, and listen to it on and off, and now that im living in london, and not my beloved wellington, i love it even more.

As many people say every song is gold...they are right! it definately has a kiwi, natural, acoustic-feel (not always acoustic though), bittersweet, haunting, folky sound to it...but in a 'new zealand' sort of way.

Anika writes about the most random stuff, - everyday NZ stuff...cute stuff...about NZ places, little stories of people, perhaps that she once knew, but anyone around the world could identify. So all peoples of the world, buy this album....!!

4.0 out of 5 stars a GREAT CD with a HUGE non-westlife feel, 23 Mar. 2005
This review is from: Irish Son (Audio CD)
i have listened to this album over and over, and i love it. i had no idea this guy was from westlife (im an NZer, you see) - and from this album you never know either. it has a refeshing james taylor/i-actually-write-my-own-songs-and-play too, way about it. its a sort of bitter sweet folk rock sort of album, and him being solo just makes it that much more classy.
definately worth buying - even if you're not a big cd/music buyer - this one is worth actually buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! :), 17 Nov. 2003
i have found this book to be very useful, and had alot of great info that seems to be relating all sort of unusual questions i had (the answers were always somewhre in this book) about all the general and important topics such as br/bot feeding, weaning etc :).
it is thourough and is set out well - chronologically.
the only thing that i find not the greatest - is that the narrative comes across a tiny bit patronising (tho this would not be a reason not to buy it).
it also seems to have a great contents section - which is what inspired me to actually buy it.
