Less stuff!, 18 July 2011
This stimulating book, written from an explicitly Christian perspective, presents a challenging critique of our consumerist culture, and offers some constructive suggestions on how to shape a different life-style while still immersed in, or surrounded by, that culture. These suggestions are brought together into a "detox diary" for readers who wish to take up the challenge for themselves. The author is one of the founders of "Breathe", a group of Christian disciples working for a radical counter-culture. "Breathe"'s motto is "less stuff, more life", and this just about sums up the message of this timely and refreshing manifesto. Highly recommended for Christians, for enquirers and seekers, and for all who feel burdened by stuff, trapped by consumerism, or deeply concerned for the wellbeing of our planet and its inhabitants.
