Its not a bad film - it has some great scenes & is well shot, acted etc - unfortunately a Radio 4 Film Review billed this as "one of the best films ever" (a regular comment attached to world cinema films)...and even though I was prepared for a bit of a let down I really cant see why it got the best ever tag.

Well cast, some exquisite photography but it didnt grab me...then again its quite a romamtic swashbuckling flick (as well as being sinister & dark) and these films rarely grab me - so it could be a personal taste issue.

Im hoping the Grand Illusion holds up better..sounds smiliar to Paths of Glory by Stanley K.
