1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful, 7 Feb 2014
Absolutely dreadful. The worst book I have ever used for teaching. I could go into detail but I really don't want to offend. If you are a Tefl teacher avoid it if you can.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's a spelling Jim but not as we know it., 23 July 2013
The plural of Phaser does not include an inverted coma. It is simply Phasers. You need to sort this out if you want to sell any of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low fi Bill Murray triumphs, 7 Jun 2011
Who would have thought it ? Scarlett and Bill together. His manic quick fire humour and her understated beauty ? Well, it works convincingly. Partially unscripted many of the scenes are simply improvised allowing Bill Murray to excel with his wisecracking observations and allowing Scarlett to just...simmer.

Written and directed by Sophia Coppolla, some have speculated that this is the story of her alledged affair with Harrisonm Ford in the 90's. Either way, one of this films real triumphs is its realistic portrayal of Japan through the eyes of a new vistor. The charm and strangeness of the country is captured quite brilliantly.

A must see.

Essential Grammar in Use with Answers: A Self-Study Reference and Practice Book for Elementary Students of English

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent study aid, 2 Mar 2011
This is an extremely useful study and teaching aid. It does away with scary grammatical explanations and instead leads the student through various models in common english to provide real experience. Each section comes with an exercise to cement ideas in the students' minds and these are not complicated and provide useful conversation points for lessons. On the whole a book which concentrates on 'when' we use as opposed to 'why' and while it is important for foreign language students to learn grammar, this is invaluable as a first step.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good instrument, well made., 3 Feb 2011
This review is from: Ibanez GSR 200 + housse black
More than an entry level Bass. This instrument is well made, plays very well and has excellent tone. The neck and action give no problems and having played it for a couple of years now I have yet to adjust the truss. I was originally tempted by the Squire Jazz Bass but a friend who has one has experienced alot of problems with the neck and there are no such problems with the Ibanez. If there is one reason for taking off a star it is the plastic volume and tone knobs but these are easily changeable. Like many Guitars this is a little over priced on Amazon

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete.., 7 Nov 2010
This review is from: In My Tribe (Audio CD)
One of those rare albums that truly deserves the label 'Classic'. By that I mean every song here is excellent. When describing an album of true significance my eloquence often deserts me - I'm much better with the negative stuff ! However, Natalie Merchant's beautiful voice is given here it's best material. Perfect arrangements, beautiful melodies and spellbinding story-telling. 'What's the matter here?', 'Hey jack kerouac', 'A campfire song','The painted dessert',''Like the weather' and the wonderfully poignant 'Verdi cries' make this album a true treasure. Buy, blag, beg, burn, steal or borrow.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not great...but not great either., 5 Nov 2010
This review is from: xx (Digipack) (Audio CD)
Somebody told me this was great. Somebody told me that it's simplicity was it's charm. Somebody told me that it had won the mercury music award...
Lets be honest, it's no fun getting old. Not when you love music and not when you come from a country with the richest pop music heritage in the world. Not when you hear new music that sounds like an early eighties spitting image parody without the humour. At least the Darkness did it for laughs.. and at least the Darkness could play.
Little wonder that my generation and later generations still eulogise about the Beatles and Queen if this is the kind of music that wins prizes.
So the question is;
Am I getting old or is this just bad ?
Answer; Yes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, 4 Nov 2010
In all honestly I have disliked literally everything they have done up 'til this albums release but this is a stunning leap in creativity. Hypnotic and addictive this album has been on constant rotation in my car for the last two years. Of course, having Brian Eno in tow certainly helps but I can't think of a bad thing to say about it and if they continue on this trajectory then true greatness awaits..

5.0 out of 5 stars Wall to wall very good.., 4 Nov 2010
This review is from: The Wall (Audio CD)
The Wall is by far my favourite Floyd album. I can't really add anything to what has been written about it in even in these pages but suffice to say it is intense, imaginative, hypnotic and completely gripping from start to finish. A real departure for them (he he). Great songs are great songs and while concept album material often suffers from being played out of context, 'Comfortably Numb','Young Lust','Another Brick' and 'The Trial' are all excellent songs in their own right (The last evoking 'Oliver' brilliantly). Much better than that other one with the Triangle rainbow thingy on the front.
