2.0 out of 5 stars meh, 17 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: York Spring Collars (Sports)
These are not great. I will be looking for a better item. It may differ item to item but one of the collars seems to be a bit too tight and will not go on without a massive amount of time consuming wrangling.

Mastering Jujitsu (Mastering Martial Arts Series)
Mastering Jujitsu (Mastering Martial Arts Series)
by Renzo Gracie
Edition: Paperback
Price: 13.79

5.0 out of 5 stars Great intro to MMA, 6 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The title lets this book down, no Mastery here but something much more real. Great intro into MMA and its constituent arts, interesting historical overview of JuiJitsu and a delve into the methods of determining the 'roots' of Martial Arts are just icing on an already very tasty cake.
Some illustrated techniques are shown, these are chosen to illustrate the various 'stages' and 'ranges' covered in MMA as well as for there relative simplicity and effectiveness. If you are studying MMA this book is an interesting and enjoyable read. If you are thinking of studying and want a painless intro to the subject get this book then go join a club.

1.0 out of 5 stars Should have been called Egocentrism.., 6 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Biocentrism (Paperback)
The front cover blurb from Deepak Chopra should have been a warning..Firstly, Lanza is not a 'world reknowned' scientist except perhaps in his own mind. The achievments he lists as his are for the most part team efforts something which he seems to have forgotten or at least not mention overtly.
The book is in the main a retake on the age old 'Quantum Theory means we dream the world' New Age claptrap but with 'science' words thrown in whenever you start to guess that's all he's saying. Words that are used almost as a diversionary technique to disguise the books general taking of massive liberties with scientific interpretations and the theories he claims to be using to support his 'conciousness is the world therefore consciousness creates the world pre conclusion'. The book is an argument from conclusion. NO evidence or even 'supporting' data. Solipsism at its most insidious worst.
He is an Adjunct professor and has been called a genius and 'renegade thinker' also compared to Einstein apparently..( which as Einstein is dead may actually be an accurate description ). If he was like a living Einstein would he be an Adjunct professor?

3.0 out of 5 stars Why no USB cable?, 6 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I would have rated this higher if they could have been bothered to supply the USB cable, it's such a small addition I can't see why they don't. Irritating to get the product set it up and then find you need one...NOT supplied. Like buying a plug without the fuse.
