5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality in a handy package, 18 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This small set has been invaluable since I have purchased it. The sockets are of a good quality with a broad range of sizes. The ratchet has not suffered any wear or degradation so far. The "wobble" that is present on the extension bar is not a fault, but is there to give a few degrees of movement so that getting to those tight spaces is a lot easier. The driver bits are of a good quality and are standard size, so any bits that you have got for other equipment should fit this.

Otterbox SYMMETRY SERIES Protection Case for Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini - Black
Otterbox SYMMETRY SERIES Protection Case for Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini - Black

Price: £30.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality but a little slippy, 17 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Otterbox cases, along with Lifeproof, are renowned for offering excellent protection at the expense of some of the more aesthetic qualities that some people may want from a phone case. This particular model from otterbox does offer a good level of protection whilst improving on the look. The case offers a hard outer cover bonded to a rubberised inner that provides good impact and shock resistance. There is no integrated screen protection so a separate one will need to be purchased. No waterproofing is offered either.
The case fits well and all the outer buttons correspond well to the buttons on the phone. All port access is good with only the fattest plugs and jacks not able to fit.
The only downside is that the back is quite slippery, but as the rim on the front is raised and rubberised, any desk slippage can be avoided by placing the phone face down.
Overall this is good quality for those that want a bit more protection than standard without turning their phone into a rubberised brick.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but a subscription is needed to get the most from this device, 17 Dec. 2015

This review is from: Fire TV Stick (Electronics)
The FireTV stick is an easy way to access subscription based content on your main TV without having to spend a fortune on equipment. The standard remote is easy to use with a simple layout and a satisfying action to the keys. The remote functions via Bluetooth, so no direct line of site is needed.
Wireless reception is good, with only one dropout so far. The FireTV operating system is easy to use but is heavily geared towards getting people to subscribe to Amazon Prime TV. This is the money maker for Amazon, so anyone looking for free content needs to look elsewhere. The good news is that the FireTV stick allows you to install apps such as Netflix and TVPlayer, so alternatives can be used. Do be aware that to get the most out of of this product you need to look at subscribing to either Prime or Netflix. Both offer free trials so give them a whirl. Other apps such as Plex are available for those with home servers, so this is a good out-of-the-box solution for those with the setup.
Overall this is a good buy, but you need to do your research first about which service (Netflix or Amazon) you'd like to use to get the most out of this product.

Microlabs Fc360 Speaker
Microlabs Fc360 Speaker

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent design and high quality materials, 14 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had a love for 2.1 speakers ever since buying a set of logitechs several years ago. They always offer plenty of bang for your quid but sometimes at the expense of the refinement that higher quality bookshelf speakers can offer.

I currently have a set of Logitech Z4's and was looking for a second set to put in my kitchen. Unfortunately, they have been discontinued and their replacement has not had the same decent reviews as the Z4's have had. So, I looked into these and decided to give them a go.

Compared to the Z4's I have, the FC360's are easily a much better product. Starting with the satellite speakers, the FC360's have a much more balanced representation of what is being played. A great deal of 2.1 systems give great high end and loud bottom end reproduction at the expense of some of the mid range. Not so with the FC360's. It is obvious that the designers wanted to overcome this shortcoming as they have boosted the output of the midrange to a better than average level for the type of speaker. The high range is also well represented without the harshness that can be present with other systems.
The subwoofer is a well tuned and refined unit. It can become a little overbearing at higher volumes, but this can be controlled very easily with the separate bass volume on the back of the amp.
Overall, the sound output is excellent for this type of unit, mostly due to excellent design and also down to the materials. The wood used for the cabinets adds warmth and tone control that is lacking with other 2.1 units.
One feature of this system is the separate amp unit that is not ususally present in 2.1 systems. I really like this feature, mainly because it gives me ease of access to the inputs, outputs and level controls for the whole system. It is robustly made and has a very smooth action to the controls.

Soundwise, this cannot compete with expensive full range speakers, but to get this level of quality from this type of unit, you would normally have to pay for something expensive such as Harman Kardon or Bose.

Archos 35 Home Connect Internet Radio
Archos 35 Home Connect Internet Radio

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound quality and features, just lacks finesse!, 7 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've considered buy an internet radio for quite a while but I've been put off by both the price and the lack of functionality.

The Archos Home Connect 35 is an Android 2.2 device that been customised by Archos so that the radio/alarm clock functionality is at the forefront. It has the usual connectors that most android devices have and the added benefit of a micro SD card slot with support up to 32gb, although most Android devices will unofficially support up to 64gb (try at your own risk!). It also sports a 3.5" resistive touch screen and is preinstalled with Flash.

So here's the breakdown:

Build Quality
The build quality is fairly standard for this type of device. It's very lightweight and plasticky, but doesn't feel like it's been stuck together with spit and hope. - 4 stars (out of five)

Sound Quality
For this size of device the sound quality is excellent. It's not high fidelity but the bass is good and the mix is very balanced - 5 stars

Screen Quality
This is one of the things that lets this device down. The screen is resistive and requires quite a lot of force to use. This is not something that you want to be using to scroll through a lot of web pages. I have got quite frustrated with this several times. Also, the screen resolution is quite low. Whilst this is fine for general use, it's not good for watching anything more than a quick YouTube clip - 2 stars

Connectivity, apps and Android functionality
This device comes preisnstalled with the Tunein Radio Pro app, which lets you listen and record thousands of internet and local radio stations. This is honestly the best internet radio interface I have ever used.
The device doesn't come with the Google Play store but a quick google search will tell you how this can be done (Google ArcTools for Archos Tablets).
The inbuilt music player is superb and the Archos alarm clock app allows multiple alarms with the choice of music from the device, a TuneIn radio station or a standard buzzer to wake you up.
The only downside to this is the usage of Android 2.2 and all the little niggly problems that came with it. Don't expect this device to be running Android 4.0 at any point. - 4 stars

Other features
This device comes with a built in battery and gives a good few hours of life even when playing music or radio constantly. The charger is good quality and boasts a 1.5 amp current for very quick charging. - 5 stars

All in all for £50 this is a bargain. The screen and little Android bugs can be overlooked because of the superb connectivity and sound quality. If this device could come with a better capacitive screen and Android 4.0 then it would be perfect. 4 stars out of 5.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful. Not the best but far from the worst, 11 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I ordered this as a cheap replacement for my ailing Toshiba Tecra that is nearly 10 years old was on it's last legs. The idea behind it was as a cheap netbook replacement and this device is more than adequate for the task. Web browsing is acceptable and so far no problems whatsoever with flash or html5. Some script heavy websites make the device struggle a bit but I think that is a more the ICS browser that is at fault.
The front facing camera is adequate for skype and video calls. The screen is resistive, but as I am more comfortable using mouse and keyboard this is not an issue. The most superb feature for me is the two USB ports on the device. I can plug both a mouse and keyboard in with no issues at all.

Pros

CHEAP - for a hundred and nine quid, this is a bargain
Huge connectivity
2 usb ports for mouse and keyboard
HD video playback with no lag or stuttering.
Full Play store
Ready rooted device

Cons

Compared to other more expensive tablets, this is not at all powerful Antutu Score is 3185
Screen is a little bit fuzzy but is fine for general use.

Other than that, all I can say is that if you want something very cheap that works, then this is a brilliant choice!

*EDIT* Unfortunately, this tablet had to be returned as faulty. The resistive screen lost focus and did not respond and the network connection was very slow. It's a shame as everything else worked marvelously. Reduced down to three stars because of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and fashionable, 9 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I ordered the Cornflower Blue and Fire Red hoodies and from the price I wasn't really expecting much. To my pleasant surprise they are of a very high quality! The fabric is thick and non pilling, with double stitched seams. The hood is lined in the same colour fabric and sits slightly forward around the neck. As far as size goes, these are fairly fitted (but not tight) so if you want some looseness then I would go for a size bigger than you would normally get. Personally, a size medium was great for me as I was looking for something a bit more fitted.
After several washes the colour has not faded and the fabric is still in very good condition.

One feature not mentioned in the description is a little stitched button hole inside the front pocket at about navel height. I worked out that this is for headphones that you can pass through the neck of your hoodie, down the inside and then through the hole into the front pocket. I nice little feature that I've never seen before.

A great buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and value, 9 Sept. 2012

My 2 year old son loves this light shade. The overall quality is excellent and when a the light is switched on the images and colour are vibrant and clear. One feature I really like is that the shade hooks over the fitting so removing the need to take the bulb out and unscrew the plastic cover on the connector.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the amateur, 29 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After scoping out some other units I decided to buy this even with the negative reviews, as the band I'm in has had no problems with Behringer gear before.
After some experimenting with the unit, I discovered that the best way to use it is to switch it directly to mono - otherwise if you use a mono guitar lead like I do all you'll get is sound from one earphone. Another tip is not to use the monitor output from you desk/amp, just go straight for a direct signal from the PA (I run my lead straight from the back of a spare jack port on the back of the sub).
From a drummers point of view, this is a great tool. To protect my hearing I usually use earplugs, but these can muddy the sounds and block important things such as the vocals. With the headphone amp however, I use some sound isolating earbud phones and control the volume directly. I also use the XLR input for the mic with a short XLR lead attached to a mic and pointed outwards so I can hear some clarity from the rest of the band. My hearing is protected and I can still understand everything that is going on!

The build quality is robust and the instructions are clear.

It loses one star however as professional musicians and/or those that use powered mics will not be able to use this due to the imcompatibility with phantom power.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent cable, 29 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Older HDMI cables generally don't work very well when they reach the lengths that this cable is manufactured at. This is down to issues with the bandwidth available and how it's reduced with longer cables. This cable however does not suffer from any signal degredation as it runs the 1.3b version of HDMI (currently the highest is 1.4, but is really only used by 3DTV). The quality is excellent and suffers no issues with a 1080p 5.1 audio signal.

Physically, the cable has robust connectors and is quite thick, suggesting a decent amount of shielding. A great purchase.
