A very nice watch at a very nice price. Perfect middle ground, not anywhere as cheap as a Casio or as expensive as a Rolex. A quality watch from a quality manufacturer. Well worth the money

5.0 out of 5 stars A good comparison as both of these bands over time evolved ..., 12 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Probably very biased here as they are my fave punk band ever but here goes. From the rock steady drumming of Smelly through El Hefe's impersonations, Mike's wit and the famous "Mel yell", these boys have been coined the punk rock Rolling Stones. A good comparison as both of these bands over time evolved quite considerably from where they started. Early efforts like Green Corn bear no resemblance to latter ones like Idiots are Taking Over. This is probably the best starting point for NOFX. If you can listen to this from start to finish and enjoy it then all I can advise is they have quite a large back catalogue. Go forth, seek and enjoy, I did!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rush to get this!!, 8 Oct. 2015

At last, record companies are catching on to DVD audio in blu ray!!! This is my favourite Rush album, an absolute classic. The musicianship on this album is stunning, from Peart's complex drum patterns right through to the multi talented Geddy Lee. In surround you get to hear lots of subtle little touches normally lost in stereo, the benefit of spreading the sound across 5 speakers. A new twist on an album 40 odd years old making it sound brand new.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Welcome, 22 Aug. 2015

For its time, this was a seriously disturbing album. Forget Marilyn Manson and all the other wannabes, this guy was/is still the man, no question. I had an inkling that this had been remixed in surround and it didn't take long to find it. As a now obsolete format, DVD audio didn't really get the chance to make an impact, sadly. I have had the cd of this for many years and still regard it as one of Alice's finest hours. Does DVD audio do the album justice? Oh yes, and some!!!! I have played this cd many times across several cd players but I'm hearing instruments that are normally buried in the mix, making this a new listening experience. It was the same for Queen's A Night at the Opera. The track "Steven" quite literally made my hair stand on end. A bit unhinged in stereo, in surround it's genuinely creepy, just brilliant. Classical instruments like violins on "Only Women Bleed" really stand out, thanks largely to 4.7 gigs of info and 5 speakers to spread unsuppressed sound. This wasn't cheap to buy, even second hand, but boy was it worth it. If you love this album like I do, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is just a fantastic album from start to finish. Systems first album gave us a big clue that this guy has it all, power, range and a simply stunning voice. This album highlights Serj's talents quite beautifully. From opener Cornucopia to closer Weave On there is not a single weak or filler track on offer. Freed from any restrictions of being in a band, Serj has created a masterpiece he may not be able to surpass (please prove me wrong!!!!). From all out rockers to ballads, there's a quirky number or two on offer for good measure. Don't just take my word for it, buy it.

Always Managing: My Autobiography
Always Managing: My Autobiography
by Harry Redknapp
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Tells it like it is, 5 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As you would expect from Harry, this is blunt, accurate, pulls no punches and has a nice touch of humour thrown in. He tells it how it is, from his early days as a winger for West Ham to managing QPR. From his disgust at the late great Bobby Moore's lack of recognition (how does Trevor Brooking get a knighthood but Bobby never did) to his dismissal from Spurs, it's a riveting read. Harry is an old school manager that wisely moved on with the times. You won't see too many more autobiographies from the likes of Harry, read it.

This is the album where NOFX grew up a bit musically. Their social commentary hit new heights on this album, but with more than a touch of humour thrown in. This was the first release from the present line up, new guitarist El Hefe's musical talent was exploited very nicely. Topics range from lesbians to iffy DJ's. If you're wondering where the likes of The Offspring and Green Day got a bit of inspiration from for Smash and Dookie, look no further. Still tearing up venues over 30 years from their inception, NOFX have no intention of putting away the hair dye just yet. With albums this good, why should they?? A great punk album from my favourite punk band. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joyous, 5 May 2015

Anyone looking for this album knows that it is actually Joy Division under their previous name. Many of the tracks on here appear on later releases but the alternate versions here show their undoubted talent. As punk started to go underground in the late 70's/early 80's (it never went away) and new wave surfaced, it was left to bands like JD to carry the banner for great music. This is a superb example of this era.

The second solo outing from Rammstein guitarist Richard Z Kruspe. A bit more accessible than the first, this album is extremely good. Several tracks are collaborations with other artists and all lyrics are in English. I am a massive fan of Rammstein, sometimes solo efforts from band members can be a disappointment. Not with this I can assure you. Silent So Long is a great album from start to finish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sabs rule!!, 4 May 2015

Mixing Live at Last with other classic era Sabbath and packaging like this, cool move. Sound quality on disc 2 is questionable in places, hence the 4 stars. This is classic line-up Sabbath doing what they did best, playing live and laying the blueprint for other hard rock/metal bands to follow.
