5.0 out of 5 stars Comedy of Menace, 3 May 2000
This early play ran for only a few days and was panned by critics. It is now heralded as a classic of modern drama. The fear and tension are palpable throughout. Goldberg and McCann reduce Stanley to a gibbering wreck and the audience feel his trauma throughout.
It reveals the skeletons in all our closets and leaves us wondering why a "wheelbarrow" and a "TOY DRUM", at once innocuous and every day items, can be so menacing and downright scarey. Enjoy the fear.

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome album that shows Urban Hymns to be rather lame, 3 May 2000
This review is from: A Northern Soul (Audio CD)
As an exiled Northerner in London the strains of "I'm just a northern soul...too busy staying alive" really hit home. This album is amazing. It takes the stoned atmosphere of "A Storm In Heaven" and adds a rock/pop dimension. Tracks like "Northern Soul", "Life's An Ocean" and "This Is Music" are timeless. It's an album you will listen to in phases and keep coming back to. We await the solo Ashcroft stuff with baited breath but he will find it difficult to get such a sympathetic aural backdrop to his vocals as on here. An album to enjoy time and time again.
