3.0 out of 5 stars Not Great, 8 Oct 2014
I was lent this book by the macmillian hospice where my wife passed away..I read the whole book in about one hour,I thought it was too simple, maybe more suitable for a child..but for me it was of no help..

Good comedy/drama set in Flushing NY..great acting, and a twist at the end..Michelle Krusiek is wonderful as the frustrated daughter of a traditional chinese mother..but if you think shes good in this...watch "FAR NORTH" to see her in a very different role..

Great Romantic comedy series from South Korea..fantastic leading lady and wonderful story-line..some sad parts, but mostly great fun..
Some of these types of series can be boring and hard to watch, but this one is not..and it has a "cliffhanger" ending on each episode..

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, 9 Aug 2012

The white part with all the buttons, comes away from the main frame/trolley part too easily!! my 1 year old can just slightly life the white part from the bottom and it then falls on her,the clip at the top of the trolley is weak, but the main problem is the 2 locating holes on the trolley are not deep enough..no one else has mentioned this..so maybe i got a poor one..anyway not very happy with it..ut too much trouble to return,as we threw away the box!!

4.0 out of 5 stars great..BUT!!!!! **CONTAINS SPOILERS**, 25 May 2012

I am interested in anything to do with North Korea..and this book started well, telling the sad story of 2 sisters living in a small village with almost no food for their families!! so (of course) they decide to defect to China..
Meanwhile in China, two girls are going to rural towns spreading the word and giving bibles to the people they meet..
These 2 stories come together towards the end of the book..
A good read, but it gets a little TOO religious for me..visions of heaven ETC..
worth reading!! 7 out of 10...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great., 29 Jun 2011
This review is from: Dragon From Russia [DVD] (DVD)
Based on "crying freeman" the japanese manga, this is quite good, but for me,it was worth the money just to hear the lovely Maggie Cheung speak Russian with a chinese accent!!! if you can get this for under a tenner,it's worth seeing.

5.0 out of 5 stars great film., 24 Jun 2011

I was born a couple of years before the moor murders, but i still remember my parents and their friends talking about the horror of the murders,so i was looking forward to seeing this film...
I thought it was excellent,Samantha Morton as Myra Hindley was perfect,in fact, all main actors were good,i have also ordered "see no evil" and look forward to comparing it to longford..
as other writers have said...it's a pity you can only get this film from the USA and only region 1..i am lucky to have a multi-region DVD player, but some UK movie lovers may lose out..

2.0 out of 5 stars a bit boring, 15 Jun 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was born the same year as this writer,i can remember some of the TV programmes he talks about, but the endless talking about friends and relations was quite boring, also the footnotes on most pages were not needed..i got halfway though this book before giving up..maybe if you grew up in the same area,it would be mildly interesting, but it's not for me..

4.0 out of 5 stars 3 great stories, 1 Jun 2011

This review is from: 20/30/40 [DVD] [2005] (DVD)
A great rom-com set in Taiwan, there are 3 stories and they are all good, the best is the "20" story,it stars angelina lee (from the eye" the "30" story stars the female director as a 40something single lady, who finds a young lover and can't "keep up" with him..a good film, but maybe more enjoyable for girls..
