1.0 out of 5 stars this is less expensive, in fact it's free....., 17 Aug 2014
This review is from: The Secret (Hardcover)
(unfortunately, you can't award no stars), i'm not sure you need to pay out any money at all to use this mantra every day, 'believe in yourself, believe in yourself', there, it's done....

Finale: Short Stories of Mystery and Suspense
Finale: Short Stories of Mystery and Suspense
by Michael Nava
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars a wonderful story writer, 23 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
only just introduced to Nava's work, after receiving the first, i had to buy and read them all in quick succession, they tell excellent stories, but there are so few of them.
this book of short stories then was bought because of his contribution and although henry rios only gets a short mention, the story does shine brighter than the other's in the book.
so five stars for mr nava's writing only!

5.0 out of 5 stars goodbye, tales of the city?, 23 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
when i read on the flyleaf that this was the last book in the series, i was determined to ration myself to one chapter a night...
i couldn't last, the nights wore on and the last three were swallowed in one go...
all (i think) of our characters got a mention before the ending and for a few pages, shockingly, it wasn't the one i had prepared myself for....
as always, it's a joy to read, so don't deny yourself any longer!

5.0 out of 5 stars extremely funny!, 19 Feb 2014
i too was i bit reticent about watching this movie - i thought it might be just another 'lads film' but its worth watching just for the gay cameos from Justin Long and Brandon Routh - absolutely hilarious

5.0 out of 5 stars disney, employ a better publicity machine, the film would have done better at the box office!, 14 April 2013
This review is from: John Carter [DVD] (DVD)
just saw this delightful film on sky and now intend to buy the dvd.

the story is beautifully visualised and the acting is very good - the leads, taylor kitsch and lynn collins, are well supported by english actors of course, and the film benefits from it.

the cgi is breathtaking - it really couldn't have been made without it, models would not have done!

the sort of reviews i read make me wonder why critics do that job - if you're not interested in the genre let somebody who is give an honest opinion, not trash it because scifi isn't your thing.

so give it a chance, it's not shakespeare (although the themes are there), but its a fun, thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining film!

watch it and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars buy a bottle of wine (or maybe bake a cookie :-) ), and settle down to watch this entertaining rom/com...., 6 April 2013
just saw this on SKY movies and it's an absolute joy to watch.

Why oh why is this not available as a region 2 DVD? We do like to watch (and keep) films as well in the UK (and Europe) you know!

Harry Potter and the Bible: The Menace Behind the Magick (And the Bible Series)

1.0 out of 5 stars And we wonder why there are holy wars????, 25 Mar 2004
At best a Christian diatribe, at worst Fundamentalist clap-trap.
Mr Abanes seems to have trouble differentiating between (historical) fact and (religious) faith - the former happened, the latter is a belief - avoid this book at all costs and save your money. (I want to give a rating of 0 stars, but the review form won't let me do this!)
