Soundtack for the future, 21 April 2007
Trent (god bless him) Reznor described this album as a soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made. Yep, I can see exactly what he means. This is absolutely chock full o' goodness. Unlike a lot of people, I loved "With Teeth" (is there any better track than "The Hand That Feeds" in the last 10 years) but Year Zero manages to chew this up and spit everything around it out. Highlights are "Survivalism", "Capital G", and the unfortgettably catchable, "Me, I'm not" (any Depeche Mode fans will think, Damn!!, I wish they had written that!!) Believe me when I say that this is not an insult!! Year Zero could just work out to be the finest, original, release of 2007.
