i never knew the half of it!
Loaded with context and written with confidence, authority and zeal...it's a massive story.
Frankly, you are better off reading it than reading this. Personally; money well spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars re-read, 9 Feb. 2014

Expertly entertained and moved, (again) by this great story teller.
It's got to be a good sign that a book can be read twice in a fairly short period of time. Dense, descriptive and sumptuous, it carries you along warts tits whisky and all, hell bent on righting wrongs and headbutting wrong'uns...
happily recommend to any body who is real and not a softy.

just buy it, it's a great book. you would have to be churlish in the extreme not to enjoy the page turning tide of ideas near history and tall tales there in.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book, 23 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This excellent tome, (and it is a door stopper) sheds a clear and sharp light on all those rumours and legends you hear as an avid listener to meaningful music.
It then goes on to walk you through hours of listening and years of history with the keen grip of reportage almost meets novel.
Simply excellent, broad and almost frighteningly concise, it's obviously a big labour of love.
Personally, i'm dipping in and out at my leisure, as it'll last me a while.
TOP TIP!!! buy the kindle version FOR A HOLIDAY READ, although the paper copy will prove a great reference/conversation piece for the home . (i've got both now)

4.0 out of 5 stars It drifts, but so does this young man's life., 15 Mar. 2012
Loose but engaging, great insights into the chaos of consumer crap and some funny turns of phrase. Rambles on a bit when i was maybe expecting hardcore fear and loathing sleaze(!), but i'm only 39% in... it's a young man's journey put down well on pen and paper. Perhaps of more interest to the kind of people that don't always know when to say No, at the end of the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh my gob., 15 Mar. 2012
What a larf. too many great stand out anecdotes and one liners to mention, with mad insights into the literal and lyrical mind of an ACID chomping ManK nutter. It was un-put-downable and fascinating... Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars ignore the haters, 1 Dec. 2011
So funny, very dry. An interesting and constructive and very English sense of despair permeates this page turner. you will laugh, so buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great read, 15 Sept. 2011
really enjoyed every last page of this deviously dense tome, hooks you like your favourite box set. Lent it to a workmate , that's always rewarding...(maybe she'll buy his next one)recommend. Very finely honed.
