Very pleased with this lens. More versatile than the 28-300mm becasue of the wider 18mm angle. Seems better quality (results) than a much less expensive 18-200mm Sigma lens I also have. A pity that for a Pentax fit there is no 18-270 mm version .

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
DVD arrived promptly and in new condition from supplier..but the description of "6 films" is completely misleading. I strongly suggest choosing a different DVD..this "1" is more than a little disapointing. No problems at all with supplier or delivery.

Very good camera, and excellent value. Some nice features..espcially the 'live' view LCD,and the way when switched to 'normal' slr optical viewfinder, the LCD with good information on it,blanks out (saving battery usage)when the eye is at the viewfinder. Controls are all well placed on the camera, and when familiarised with them are good and simple to use.
Like a lot of SLR's with this sized sensor..there is visible 'noise' at higher iso's. So,some other camaras would be more suitable if a lot of low light, non flash, non tripod pictures are to be taken.
Also the camera does not have a very fast 'burst rate',and certainly if shooting in raw..it seems rather slow in writing images to the memory card . Also the reviewing procedure is not ideal..being rather slow and arkward in gaining access to information like 'clipping' of highlights and shadows. The information is all available ..just could be seen quicker and more easily.
The camera is medium size and weight compared to other mid- priced 'enthousiast' SLR's ...and feels quite good to handle....but perhaps not as 'solidly' built as some other cameras .
Especially recommend this camera if a good 'live LCD' SLR camera is wanted at a reasonble price.

I bought the lens primarily for my Canon G9,and it works well with that camera, 58mm screw fitting into the necessary adaptor.
I did however hope to make use of the lens with other cameras...for example one with a 55mm filter thread. However the lens will not fit into the threads of a normal 55-58 step-ring (I've tried several) Surprisingly,it will fit into a 62-58 Step ring. I can only think that the thread size of the lens has a slight difference to the norm. I also have a Canon wide angle conversion lens ..which is also like this as far as fitting goes.
I would therefore recommend this tele lens for a canon G7 or G9 ( for which it's designed) --but not if you hope to use it with other cameras, where lenses made by other manufacturers(different thread sizes) may be better .
