A real surprise I could not put it down. Create story, the detail was great and beleivable. Had obviously thought about the idea in alot of detail. The humour was great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Less sex more story and it might have been better, 13 Oct. 2014

loved poor mans war. This started well with a novel concept but in the end the near constant disciption of sex really got tedious and distracted from any story. not that there was much of one in the end

3.0 out of 5 stars Would not recommend, 13 Oct. 2014
Really hard to fit and constantly having to adjust to stop them rubbing. Break very easily, used for a couple of months and eventually removed. Would not get again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best alternative history books I have read, 13 Oct. 2014

Absolutely brillant concept. Really well written with masses of detail. The story as it enfolds is very plausible. Only negative is I read the first three books back to back and i have to wait for book four.

3.0 out of 5 stars A series losing steam, 13 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Hmm, I am a bit in two minds about the Malazan empire. Loved the early books and even managed to slog through to the final book. Thought the last couple of books where hard to finish. Actually just started to re-read it and i have picked up alot i missed before.

The Ian C books get a bit of bad press, So for I have really enjoyed them. Particularly the Crimson Guard. However I found this and the last book really hard to finish. They are very disjointed and hard to follow. And this one in particular was a little bit predictable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great, 13 Oct. 2014

The overall premise is too much like his crimson worlds stories. Corrupt political elite, brave troubled leader. No great surprises and a bit clichd. Won't be buying the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little addition to the Dell Venue Pro 8, 13 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Got this for use with my Dell Venue 8 Pro. Very satisfied when I worked out how to use it, it works very well. Note to Dell, it would be worth having a quick getting started guide to explain how you can switch the keyboard into handwriting mode. I know that is more an issue with Windows 8 issue than hardware. ps when in keyboard mode click int he keyboard icon in bottom right corner and slect the icon that looks like a pen and tablet. Doh! It took a while and I work in IT.

The device itself at £20 feels expensive but it is well made and robust. It is very thin, more so than i think it needs to be which takes a while to get used to. Also be careful when holding it not ot hit the button on the side, you end up lifting it and then rotating the pen to get it out of the way. It is worth doing the tutorials, you get to them by bring up the writing keyboard (as above) and clicking on the ? in a box on the top right of the screen. it shows you how to correct mistakes, delete, split text and join text. The actual handwriting is really good and I have awful handwriting.

The aforementioned button takes a little getting used to. It feels like two buttons like a volume rocker switch but i can't seem to work out how to get them to work seperately. Holding this down when selecting stuff makes it work like right click on mouse.

Useful addition to the venue pro, makes it a little easier to do that fine detail work and if you have big hands like me it is really useful at times. Much less frustration when you can't see to hit that small link.

It takes AAAA (yes 4!) batteries. Never seen them before, that being said I have mine for a couple of months at the Energiser one that comes with it still works fine. Medium usage though, my dell is very much a gadget rather than a constantly used companion. I have order some from amazon for when it eventualy dies.
