3.0 out of 5 stars A good router let down by some awful features., 30 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This router has kept its promises in terms of speed, connectivity and coverage, but Netgear have for some reason included some seriously backward thinking features into it. For example...
- It comes with a very bulky plug for this day and age
- In order to print wireless, you must download and install Netgear software on every device you intend to print from, and then connect the printer directly to the router ( though this may depend on your printer). Either way, the software does not always work.

Parental control is included but you are diverted to a website if you try to use this feature.

The Asus RT-N66U provides the same if not better performance but without these time consuming and irritating hindrances. The designers at Netgear really should get out more. Would not buy Netgear again till they fix these issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it love it love it., 8 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is simply great: looks good, feels nice, not as fragile as it mess (so far after three weeks) and simply unbeatable for the price.

Headphone jack with thick plastic casing will not fit these as the case makes it difficult for the plug to connect all the way in. But the solution is simply earphones with a slim plastic casing by the connection tip.

Great value.

Targus AWE55EU Laptop Cooling Pad 2 fans laptop cooler fits 15"-17"
Targus AWE55EU Laptop Cooling Pad 2 fans laptop cooler fits 15"-17"
Price: £19.00

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so good after a few months, 15 Jun. 2013
This cooler started off as described by many here;brilliantly.
But it soon got well and truly defeated by a very thermophilic Samsung laptop after just a few weeks. It also keeps running even while the laptop is not switched on (mine does anyway) meaning it must be unplugged from the laptop .

As a stand it is great, but as a cooler, not so good. And don't even try fitting it in any laptop bag;unless your name is Houdini.

1.0 out of 5 stars PREDECESSOR WAS MUCH BETTER, 7 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is based on a week's usage..
Having previously bought the impressive Samsung S2, I decided to buy this supposedly newer model.
This M3 drive feels cheap and plasticky compared to the older S2.

It does have a USB 3 connection, but I could not see an improvement in speed compared with the older S2.
To make matters worse, it started behaving as cheap as it looks; it has crashed my windows explorer after every use.

Samsung have clearly penny pinched with this product and it shows. They have even discarded the protective case which came with the older S2 drive. The 1TB storage space is the only thing going for this M3 drive, but Samsung have taken a backward step with this product and I will be returning it back to Amazon and ordering another S2.

On a positive note this M3 drive is lighter than it's predecessor. Then again...with all that penny pinching from Samsung, I'm not sure that's necessarily a good thing.

3.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: STARTING TO FALL APART AFTER 12 MONTHS Good, but hindered by a few dreadful things, 10 Dec. 2009
This is an update for anyone interested.

This laptop does live up to all the positive points raised by other reviews, but after 12 months of NORMAL use:

1. The DVD ROM unit has had to be replaced because it simply refused to work and threw tantrums by freezing the entire laptop. The Samsung repair centre told me this was a known problem with this model.

2. The two parts which comprise the monitor have split and are coming apart.

3. The whole lid now feels so flimsy at the hinges and this is getting worse with time.

4. Connections to external units such as projectors are increasingly erratic.

Who knows; perhaps I've simply been unlucky with this unit but at least you are aware.
I most certainly would not buy this model (or any laptop from Samsung for that matter) again.

====================================================================================
This is a good laptop which could have been great.

The good
It has a sleek and appealing look to it, the screen display is amazing and it delivers strong application power for its size. Lots of useful keyboard shortcuts and decent battery life (though this depends on what you do with it).
HDMI port, sd card reader and battery strength checker which allows you to see how much power is left without switching the unit on.

The bad
Samsung however spoil things by deciding that the consumer does not need certain obvious things; like sound. The result is the most dreadful sound card/speaker combination I have ever experienced in a laptop. You might as well be hearing the sound from one of those 'mcdonalds happy meal toys'. This flaw is glaringly still noticeable even when you connect to external speakers. There is also no physical volume control and the speakers are located underneath the unit.

There is no open button as with other laptops, which makes the unit impossible to open with one hand.

The power button is located way too close to the 'delete' button, but you could get used to this.

The 2.2kg weight given by Samsung does not include the battery. They should be clearer on this.

The AC plug inlet is located at the side of the unit next to the usb, making it hard to use a mouse sometimes. Would have been better at the back, out of the way.

Should you get it?
That depends; if sound is not too important to you, the I would reccomend this. If on the other hand you intend to listen to anything.....then I would look elsewhere.

I gave it only three stars because it seems Samsung started with a great laptop, then got rushed into finishing it and thought 'what the heck'. I am amazed that someone at Samsung actually thought it was OK to sell a laptop wihh such dreadful sound output. Shame; because it could have been an excellent laptop for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why only one player??????, 30 Sept. 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: G-force (Wii) (Video Game)
To be honest, this game did not give itself the chance of a fair review simply due to its one player only mode. The kids played it once and, having got fed up taking turns, soon took it out and replaced it with Star Wars.

The WII system is designed for up to 4 players, and the G-force movie has several characters; so to make this a one player game in this day and age seems a dumb oversight.

Turned out to be a waste of money as the game is not that easy to follow anyway. But if original movie voices and 'lone wii time' is your thing, then good luck with this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game, shame about annoying instructions, 27 July 2008
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a fun way to excercise the brain. The main downside is that you must endure long, tedious, repetitive and annoying rumblings in the form of instructions. This unnecessary addition to the game (what on earth were they thinking?) can put gamers, especially kids off; therefore only three stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible: Get wii sports tennis instead!, 18 July 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This game has all the colour and razzmatazz of carnival settings but that's where the appeal ends. The game is fast paced, but your response is jeopardised; you must swing a second before you intend to hit the ball, meaning that you will miss it most of the time.

The main appeal of wii is the groundbreaking interactivity. While this game provides much for the eyes to look at, its makers contradict the whole idea of playing on the wii console by constricting interactive play.

Why this game was released considering its inferiority to the existing wii sports tennis, I do not know. I though I was getting too old, but even the kids could not find it playable after just five minutes - enough said.

Shake Hands With The Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda
Shake Hands With The Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda

5.0 out of 5 stars "I know there is a God because I shook hands with the devil in Rwanda", 16 May 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As Dallaire says, "I know there is a God because I shook hands with the devil in Rwanda".
This book illustrates how the myopic and imbecilic action of a genocidal government to the indifference of the world resulted in the brutal slaughter of a people.

Dallaire's account reveal how individuals at the UN prioritised their careers and failed their own men, the Rwandese, humanity and God. The unbelievable inaction of the world and the complicit actions of countries like France will draw anger and disgust. The book also offers heart-warming accounts of bravery, innovation and goodness in the context of humanity at it's lowest.
This is the story of the threshold of human emotional endurance in the face of unimaginable horror, and the courage of a few good men. A story that should be heard by all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be seen by all, 30 April 2008
As Dallaire says, "I know there is a God because I shook hands with the devil in Rwanda".
This film compliments Dallaire's book of the same title. It shows how the myopic and imbecilic action of a genocidal government to the indifference of the world resulted in hell on earth.

The film takes Dallaire on a poignant journey back to Rwanda, and draws the viewer on a reminiscence of the hell in which he was abandoned by the UN and major Western countries.
This is the story of the threshold of human endurance in the face of unimaginable horror, and the courage of a few good men. A story that should be heard by all.
