5.0 out of 5 stars Highly original, imaginative and creative, 10 Mar. 2013
I think the way that the 14 different animation studios interpreted the book in their own particular styles is ingenious! The resultant stream of consciousness that tells the life story of Graham Chapman is highly original, imaginative and creative. Graham Chapman's life was far from ordinary, so the way his life is told is totally fitting.

The film is funny (but it isn't a comedy) and in some places, very dark and very real. Despite the claim in the movie's title that this is the 'untrue' story of Graham's life, it probably has more truth in it than many other autobiographies that don't make such a claim.

It's a must-see for Monty Python fans obviously, for fans of animation and for those who are looking for 'something completely different.'

1.0 out of 5 stars John Sweeney has ridiculed himself again!, 13 Jan. 2013
I take great exception to the glib and highly irresponsible way in which John Sweeney describes Narconon in this book.

Since drugs fuel crime, anything that can help reduce the drug problem is making a great contribution to society. So I find it staggering that he chooses to vilify Narconon despite its undeniable success in literally saving lives from the grip of addiction, over several decades the world over.

In the documentary 'Panorama Exposed', I learned how he was given an open invitation to visit Narconon Arrowhead where he would have been able to interview students actually on the Narconon programme to ask them, first hand, their impression of it and how it was helping them overcome their drug problem. In his book, instead, he makes childish remarks about Arrowhead's promotional video. I find this despicable!

But worse of all, something which really shows his true colours: I'm sure he has been given a detailed description of what the Narconon programme is and how it works, and more importantly, the outstanding success it achieves it helping addicts lead drug-free lives. (If he hasn't, he only need look at Narconon's website). Despite being in possession of this information, he not only decides to ignore it all, but he also decides to describe the Narconon programme in very simplified and inaccurate terms, on purpose, in an attempt to ridicule it. In so doing, he insults the intelligence of those short-changed individuals who bought this book. Because the undeniable fact is that Narconon is the world's largest independent international network of drug rehab centres. Why? Purely and simply because it is extremely successful in getting addicts off drugs.

Sweeney specifically points the finger at the Sauna Detoxification part of the Narconon Programme, suggesting that it is ineffective. What a laughing stock John Sweeney must now be to thousands of former addicts, world wide, who have completed the Narconon Programme, as well as to hundreds of New York firemen!

Thanks to Tom Cruise who helped raise funds to establish the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project shortly after 9/11, New York firemen and other rescue workers were able to sweat out the vast quantities of toxins they had ingested in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks whilst working at Ground Zero that were making them very ill - using the exact same Hubbard Sauna Detox used by Narconon. And yes, toxins did literally ooze out of their pores, as shown on their website.

In addition, I have personally met Joe Higgins of the New York City Fire Department who told me himself how he regained his energy, vigour and full health after 9/11 thanks to the Hubbard Sauna Detox alone. I also visited the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project (very near Ground Zero) to see it for myself.

John Sweeney's agenda is clear. He really should be ashamed of himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prevention is better than cure, 31 Jan. 2012
Very clear, non-hysterical information that every parent really needs to know to prevent their biggest nightmare - that their child gets into the drug scene and ends up an addict. Prevention is obviously better than cure, so do yourself and your child a favour and get this book, read it and know it well.
